Bob, if you go out to the Ratings listed near the top of the page, you can go into Men's 50s and touch the states heading which will sort the teams by state. It looks like in 50s that there are 11 teams listed in Michigan. The only cities that I recognized the names of were closer to the thumb side; you may recognize one closer to you nearer the west side of the state. You did not mention if you were looking for league or tournament play. You will have more options if the latter is what you are seeking. Your state director is listed (under Links, SSUSA contacts) as Dave Mossoian 734-775-2869, and there is an E-mail link there. If all else fails, I can try to help you. I wish you the best of luck as senior softball can be a great experience and gives us an outlet to play.

If you are looking to play leagues, you can go to Leagues at the top of the page, and Michigan has some listed. I did not recognize any as close, but you may get some good contacts out of that.

Thanks, Neck10, I figured someone would help me with geography in Michigan. I seem to only know the places that we played ball, skied, or went to the beach on the west side of the state. I have been to the UP more times than I have been to the actual thumb. I just knew that Lansing and Traverse City among some others were a stretch from Grand Rapids. I hope that between all of us that we can get Bob playing senior softball.

Looking under leagues earlier, I saw Traverse City, but as Neck10 pointed out, I am not an expert on Michigan cities; so you might want to look through the list for others that are close to you. Here is what was listed for TC:

League Contact: Barb Becket, Phone: 231-933-9692

Games are played on Monday Evenings

Age Divisions: 55+

Seasons: Summer (May - July)

Field: Civic Center, Traverse City, MI

This is one of my favorite cities in Michigan, nestled in the tart cherry capital of the U.S.
