George Mc. long time player with Boomers, Az. Players, Post 60, Kelly Glass and Scrap Iron passed away on Monday 3/30. Those of us that played with and against him remember him as a great defensive player with a outstanding throwing arm. He was also a very heady player and base runner with the ability to hit line drives to all fields. George's proudest accomplishment in Senior Softball was winning a ring playing with his buddies Dick County and Dave Honor with Scrap Iron.
We will all miss his competitive spirit, love of the game and story telling while sitting around after the game. Rumor has it that he already played a double header going 9 for 8 and throwing out the tying run at home in the bottom of the 7th.
RIP your bud Dave
George was a wonderful ambassador for Senior Softball. When ever I would go to a tournament George always showed up. He would not only play but would make it a point to go around to other games and see all of his old friends. He truly loved the game of softball. I will miss my old friend.

We brought George into Green Valley softball about 10 years ago and he enjoyed it so much he moved here. A good buddy and great ballplayer who really loved the game. I may miss him more than most as we made a few road trips together that will never be replaced. Rest in peace George.

George was a great guy! Always had a great outlook, a beer and a smile for everyone. He will be missed.
George was one of the best. I vividly remember his talent and personality, one who would always contribute to the team effort no matter how bad the situation was. In his latter retired years he was always one to support his friends team during their game. I am proud to say he was my friend! RIP buddy, you earned it!
Sorry to hear this news...George was a good friend....Nothing but positive thoughts and good wishes for all Family and Friends of George.
