Couple more days likely ... Still have two teams in that session that can't make a final decision on remaining in the event ...

Of all the softball complexes in Las Vegas you had to use Big League Dreams. The only park that pats you down, looks through your bag, won't allow any outside food or drinks and charges a fee to get in. Is this a great association or what. Thanks alot

tommy45, most team would kill to play at BLD vs some of the fields that they were given. Guess you can't please everyone.

tommy45, last year our team played at BLD in the Worlds Tourney. I was surprised at the lack of vendors considering the full park of eager buyers. Turns out there is a BLD hefty fee for exhibitors to bring their merchandise in so a lot of vendors didn't bother. So add that to your list.

On the other hand, I have played in BLDs all over the west and never been patted down! I also have ALWAYS been able to bring in my jug of water without objection. Food? No. Outside beverages? No. And there is a fee that has been rising over the years. But the reason my team was happy to play at BLD last year is that the fields were far superior (including spectator seating) than some others we have played at. Worth it.

tommy45 you've got to be kidding! Those are great fields. The fee is $3, part is given back to you as token for purchase of food or drink, not a bad deal at all.
SSUSA (Dave) works very hard to schedule so that as many teams as possible get to play at such at BLD. It's the venue that the majority of teams request. Maybe Dave can figure out how to keep you happy and schedule your team on the grass fields at Shadow Rock! You'd save $3/day playing there in entry fees.
There are no pat downs at BLD, bags are "kinda" checked, not very well though!
As Omar has stated, the facility is superior.

As many years that I have played in Las Vegas, I have never played at BLD. It has to be, without a doubt the finest facility in Vegas by far. Who cares about paying a few dollars to play on a quality field. SSUSA, put tommy45 at Shadow Rock & Hollywood & put the 55AAA at BLD. You can bring in all the water you can carry. Are you there to eat or play ball? Give me the best & you can take the rest.......

Hey Mark 44. This is our year to play BLD. Last year we were moved out due to 55's having more teams. This year 60's have most and I am really looking forward to playing there. See you at park, GI LVSSA Raiders 60s AAA

Dave, Couple more days likely ... Still have two teams in that session that can't make a final decision on remaining in the event ...we are two weeks away from the event and teams haven't made a decision on playing or not? Why have an entry deadline?

They were both "in and paid" by the deadline, but forfeiture of their entry fees is triggered when the schedules are drawn .... We try to avoid that detriment ... In both cases (one of which withdrew yesterday), it was last minute "roster issues" making them shorthanded ... Noon cutoff today on the other team ... Just trying our best to allow everyone to participate if possible! ... Will publish Session #1 detail schedules today and make final field determinations on Session #2 ...

I love playing at BLD. When they open my bag to check it, the first thing they see is a couple of pairs of dirty socks and a used jockstrap or two. No one has ever checked any farther.

Hey Dave,
Since we "Az Elite" will be done Saturday afternoon can you just pencil us in Saturday afternoon as a 55's Team with Summy's 55 & MTC 55 in the 50/55+ Platinum Bracket? I wouldn't think anyone would Squawk about it!? Timmy ? ? ?

Kind Regards,

@Jeff ... I made that inquiry when I first saw the four M+ teams, but was told (hopefully accurately!) by people higher up the food chain here that the 55-M+ guys wanted to play only with the 50-M straight up and not within the 55-M or, presumably, with the 50-M+ ... Am traveling to Las Vegas early tomorrow with laptop in hand, so we've got some time to adjust if you can get a consensus quickly ... It's YOUR tournament, not ours, so we'll do what you guys all can agree on doing ... Time, as always, is of the essence! ...
