Boundries
I don't know if anybody noticed the "new" boundry list is out.
Look at the California's boundry, they are not divided into two sections anymore,they also added the states of:
Arizona,Neveda,Oregon, Hawaii.
Just count the teams in your state compared to California,
let alone four other states.

Humm, yes it is true that the California teams have more places and people to pull from BUT if I am in Nevada and you "capture" one of my players then it is open "border wars" and away we go. Isn't that the essence of competition? Plus look at all of the Califiornia teams that dilute there own talent pool.

I'm from Florida and being able to pick up the best from Georgia and Alabama is a help if you are playing major plus. However, for any level below that I think it works both ways as more players can cross over and play. There are a number of teams here in north Florida that can pick up Georgia players for the roster and then have enough to play in some of the east coast tournaments. Although Florida is a big state most of the teams that travel have rosters with people from only their small area of the state. There are a lot of nice, but competitive rivals here as the north Florida boys love to compete against the south Florida, Tampa, Orlando, Panhandle and Ft. Meyers teams.

I'm biased but If someone could just but the best players together out of Florida I doubt they could be beat on any level. The same could be said of California and Texas as well.

As a Calif 55 major + team, we have had 'CA only' boundaries until this past season. In 2004-2005 we (GSF) were the 2nd best 55 team in the country. They let us have NV & AZ players in '06 and we went to the 3rd best team. Whether I'm correct or not about just where we stood those two seasons is arbitrary.
The point is that, given more territory , we didn't dominate. The two best teams in the 55 division are from the NY and VA areas (and surrounding states for both). Their boundaries have been roughly the same since 2000.
The FL 55 team (All State/Miken) could have been considered as possibly the 2nd or 3rd best in '05 but the 3rd or 4th best in '06. Their borders were enlarged as ours were and it didn't move them up either. But, like GSF, they were capable of beating anyone at any time.
Recognize that these comments are only based upon our division and age group. The concerns previously expressed (2000-2005) did not prove to be accurate in our division. I cannot speak for other divisions or age groups.

The wood.

I think that you are right it will have a bigger impact in the older divisions as there are less tournament players available.
