Loss of a great teammate, Robert (Bob) Dobbins
It's with great sadness that there was another loss to our senior softball community. Bob Dobbins was the shortstop of The Sun City Sidewinders out of Phoenix Az.and former player with The Stahl Post and TNT squads out of Delaware and Pa. He was a top notch player and even better person.

He was killed in an automobile accident returning home from a tournament in Montana. His wife Nancy was also severely injured and is in guarded condition in a hospital in Butte Montana.

Please say prayers for Nancy and all of their family members.

We will miss you Bobby. Jose Castro, Bradford White 65's

Jose, this is just terrible news. A few of us on Tri-State and our local league team played with Bob before he moved to AZ and I've met his wife Nancy as well. Wonderful people. All of us that know them will have Nancy and their families in our thoughts. So very, very sad.

Those of us in Northeastern PA are deeply saddened to hear the news. Bob played with us for School Colors (45+) and and Gallerie Construction (50+). We knew Bob well from the early 90's thru his retirement and move to Phoenix. He was a true gentleman and a passionate player. We will keep Nancy and his family in our prayers during this sad time. Rest in Peace.

I didn't know Bob, but it is always saddening to hear of the loss of a senior player. Condolences to his family, teammates, and friends.

I don't know the circumstances of Bob's accident, but I do know that many of us do a lot of traveling to play senior ball and there are a lot of crazies on the roads. Everyone, please be careful out there..

I'm a snowbird from Michigan that winters in Arizona. I met Bob 7 years ago as he was the individual I dealt with regarding the annual Sidewinder tournament. I found him to be a leader and a friend. My prayers go out to his family and friends.
