Soccer shoes
Has anyone worn soccer shoes to play softball? I saw a player last year wearing them. He said that they were extremely light and comfortable. Do any of you have any first hand experience with them? Thanks

I was wondering the same thing about Lacrosse turf shoes. I saw them on line and it looked like an option. I have seen people use soccer shoes but my experience is that the soles are harder and stiff and would seem to be hard on your joints. Maybe someone who has actually used them can comment.

We had a teammate using soccer cleats and he has since changed to a turf shoe. I understood that the long cleats and rigid sole was too much for an entire weekend of tourney play.
I went to a hiking tennis shoe looking product and love them (they have somewhat of a "luggy" pattern on the sole). Lightweight, breathable and very comfortable. It is not like I am going to break any speed records rounding the bases. (I do carry a turf shoe with a longer cleat in case I need to play the outfield. I worry about slipping in the grass and injury to my hamstrings, both.)
Comfort means a lot.
Just my 2 cents.

I wear soccer shoes, but I pick them up for 6.00 at Academy and when my other cleats wore out, I started wearing them. I usually play one night of double headers and a once a month 3 game round robin tournament. I have had no problems wearing them and I like them. But (E6 in Az) brings up a point, since I never played more than 3 games in one day or play an entire weekend of softball wearing soccer shoes, he could be right about longer cleat and rigid sole wearing your feet down on a long weekend of softball.

For about 15 years I have been wearing Nike Shark football cleats, I really love the ankle support.
