We were rated major after winning SPA in Columbus Worlds in 2014.? That was the right thing for them to do,. After the Columbus tournament this year we played as a major, and lost every game by 8-15 runs,.Will b e rerated as triple aaa in both associations, just like they raised us to major

Just a casual observation, followed by a suggestion for you to consider ...

• Winning the 2014 SPA Nationals and finishing 2nd in the LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters immediately thereafter is unlikely to garner you much sympathy or support for a rating reduction for your team ... Further, the SPA win locked you into an automatic and non-appealable Season at the next higher rating; and
• Have you considered preparing and submitting a formal Rating Appeal to request re-classification? ... The forms are available from this web site, but we can assure you no rating adjustments will be made based on SSUSA Message Board commentary, due to it's anonymous (like you) nature and generally unverifiable content ... The next SSUSA rating cycle will be after the LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships this month and next ...

Good luck!

So winning the big SPA tourney, you get an automatic bump up.
If that is the case, why aren't they invited to the TOC?

Because invitations to the SSUSA's Original Tournament of Champions in Polk County, FL, in February are extended only to the winners of SSUSA sanctioned Regional Championships (those designated as TOC Qualifiers), the SSUSA Eastern and Western Nationals, the SSUSA National Championship Games, the LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships, the ISA Winter Nationals and Senior Worlds, the Canadian SPN National Championships, the All-Japan Champion Cup International Tourney and all 80+ and 85+ year old teams ...

SPA winners are not on the eligible tournaments list, nor are ISSA, Huntsman Games, etc ...

The team you are mentioning had a peculiar merged roster for the 2014 SPA event, and you may not be fully informed about the circumstances ... If you have a specific inquiry about a specific team and/or player, send an email with your question(s) to george@seniorsoftball.com or call the office and talk with Tiffany or George ... Be prepared to ID both the player and yourself in any written or verbal contact you make ... We don't "do" this on the Message Board ... Thanks ...

I can see why you might be moved up for a 2nd place at Vegas. However, I was told by a high source several years ago that SSUSA didn't care about what happens in SPA, so it should not have had anything to do with your SSUSA rating.

Definition of PREPONDERANCE • 1: a superiority in weight, power, importance, or strength / 2: a superiority or excess in number or quantity ... [We sort of apologize for using unfamiliar terms in the guidelines!]
