Who will be at the 2007 Classic Spring Training in Feb?
It looks like we have 40 signed up now. Since I don't know everyone's name I can't tell how many from here have signed up.
I did see Bob B. from Texas, Don W. from NC, Bob F. from Fl, Curt and Audie from Fl, RT M. from Ga, Charlie P from Fl, Keith G from Fl, Tom R from Ga, Tony R from Colorado, Baer C. from Ga, Mike W and Ed R. from Fl.

There is even two or three from California and Ohio.

It looks like we will have a great crowd there!

Did I miss anyone else from here?

Hey Bruce,
I haven't updated the web page yet but the prison games for the seniors looks like it will be changed from Thursday to Friday. I'll know more Monday or Tuesday. I think we will have a pretty good senior turn out this year.

For those interested the web site is www.classicspringtraining.com

I understand the Big Cat, Mike Macenko will be there giving hitting tips and putting on a homerun exhibition against another hall of famer, Ed Rose! I also heard John Riccio is bring some of the Specialty Tank boys including Jeff Hall. Man, that's going to be cool the best player ever and the best current hitter in the game!

I also understand that the seniors are going to go on Friday to the Raiford State Prison to play the inmates a couple of games. Curt or bruce, tell us what other events you have planned as I've already signed up and will help you with anything I can.

Hey Audie/Bruce,
Here is the current list of players attending the Classic Spring Training. Though this event has grown over the years it is still a grass roots event for players who are coming out for the love of the game. This year Hall of Famer, and fellow senior ball player, Mike Macenko will be our special guest. He be giving hitting tips along with telling some of his world famous stories.

This morning I received word that Jeff Hall will be attending the event possibly with some of his 2006 Specialty Tank / Worth team mates. We are looking forward to seeing these guys!

Even though we will have some of the world's best softball players attending, you need to keep in mind this is about the typical softball players. It is a great opportunity to meet these guys and pick up some tips on hitting and fielding. Your never too old to learn!

Here is the current list of attendees which includes another Hall of Fame player, Ed Rose.

We plan on running several competitive events such as base running, place hitting, thorowing and the homerun derby. Each event will have a under 50 winner and a 50 and up division winner. This way, the young guys can win something too!

We are taking a limited number of senior players on Friday to play at the nearby prison. This is a great out-reach program and if you have never done this before you should give it a try! We are hoping to take two complete senior teams, one team will play the young prisoners (under 50) and the other team will play 50 and over prisoners. You will be back in time to attend the Friday evening banquet/swapmeet with World Class BarBQ Chef Steve Manning will be preparing the meats for the meal.

Saturday we will hit till our hands bleed, play scrimmage games and have the homerun derby under the lights Saturday evening along with the exhibition hitting. Sunday we will play ball until the last man drops. Keep in mind Monday is President's day which gives you another day to get back home.

If you interested in knowing more about this event, go to www.classicspringtraining.com The space is limited and filling fast.
Thanks,
curt hollis
