40's USA Championship Game Auto Seeds 1 and 2 Regardless
So even though this was covered in the manager meeting prior to the start of the 40's event this past weekend in Vegas, why was it not posted on the bracket boards. Everythinbg else is and this is a major piece missed when teams are looking at potential seeds to see where we might fall. Also, what do past events have to do with teams that are paying $695 entry fee and prior to the start of Pool Play two teams already have Seeds 1 and 2 locked up regardless of what there record is. This to me and to others is just idicoy, this has nothing to do with the format for past winners. So basically the other 32 teamas are playing for the third seed on. Seems rather unfair wehn teams are battling and trying to do what they can to fall in the top 3. If this was not part of the rule our team would have been the 2 seed and not 4. Seems like there are special circumstances for some events.

The 1&2 earned their spots in the East and West nationals...sounds like you tried to save expense and skip the triple crown experience...Maybe next time you will plan better as a team if it really is that important to your team.

Seeding never mattered much to me. Is the process perfect to all concerned party's? No. But, when you enter a tournament you either believe you are capable of winning or you want to play some games against good competition. In either event, it doesn't matter where in the bracket you start off at, it's where in the bracket that you finish that matters most.

I agree heartily with OZ40-seeding games are a warmup. There have been very few tourneys that my teams won from the number one seed. Actually I think we won more from the last seed! Going 4-4 with 4 hr's in a seeding game does not qualify as a great game.

Dbax your right old news and nothing will change from what I hear. There wasn't a problem warming up in Vegas to play! So with some strategy throw your seeding games which enables everybody to be healthy and fresh because you are not getting the 1 or 2 seed! I dont see where that is competion! Teams I have played with won't do that, but have played against teams that have in tournaments!

The reason for it is to get teams to attend the Eastern and Western Nationals. Seeds don't matter that much to me either. We won Rock n Reno one year after going 0-3 in pool play (pool play was 3 games a number of years ago).

I would like to see the seeding games mean more than just practice by having higher seeded teams earn home team advantage in bracket games. Home team is so important with every game close because of the 5 runs (7) per inning. This huge advantage is determined by a flip of a coin? Doesn't seem right.
