draft matrix
we have 16 teams

we draft 12 players per team

we need a matrix for drafting that gives every team a shot at picking #1 in rounds 3 to 12.

first two rounds are easy....1 to 16 than 16 to one....but after that is hard.

we understand that each two rounds, round 2, 4, 6, 8, ect. the teams round picks will equal that same number, 17.

please help

not sure how you wold do that......we use the 1 to 5 (only 5 teams in our league)then turn around method.....what i would do for sure is to group all players by age and ability(for ability maybe 3 category's impact, average then first timers and such)......ya could use a blind draft this way.....draft impact type players by age first to spread them out...then the rest....also for a blind draft make sure you have a draft round for pitchers.......so everyone gets a pitcher.....

Can't do first but consecutively for rounds 9-12.

I can send you an excel spreadsheet where 12 different teams get 1st pick and every 2 rounds picks equal 17. 4 random teams would not get 1st pick. I think this is what you are after

Let's try this one ... 12 teams get a #1 and the remaining 4 teams get a #2 ... Every two round set is balanced at an aggregate 17 ...

Any thought to :
No pool play games, you loose three games you go home. Not sure how that would effect the number of games played but it might be interesting.
If you draft as its been its usually the stronger teams pitted against the lessor, but with the draft proposed above it should be fairly even.

taits ... This was a request for some assistance on balancing a League Draft ... Don't think it was tournament related ... This gives 12 teams a #1 pick, and for the 4 teams that don't get a #1, they get a #2 or #3 in the first four rounds to make up for it ... Not a perfect solution, but should give some balance to their draft ...

Vinnyg sent me his draft matrix and it works for our league. Start using it this Friday.
