| Jan. 27, 2016 Clean Up 68 posts | SWING WEIGHTS Hi I am interested in getting the BAT SWING WEIGHTS of the Dudley Lightning 26 and 27 ounce 12 inch barrel bats. And the BAT SWING WEIGHTS of the Miken 26 and 27 ounce Big Cat 2016 for comparison. Thanks |

| Jan. 28, 2016 DOERBAUM Men's 55 86 posts | AS BAT WEIGHTS VARY CONSIDERABLY FROM BAT TO BAT FOR THE SAME MARKED WEIGHT, MAKE SURE YOU ARE COMPARING BATS THAT ARE AT LEAST "CLOSE" IN ACTUAL WEIGHT. 26 TO 26 ETC. FOR EXAMPLE I HAVE TWO BRAND NEW 26 OZ 2016 BIG CATS. I HAVN'T WEIGHED THEM YET, BUT ONE SWINGS A BIT LIGHTER THAN THE OTHER. I AM GUESSING PERHAPS 1/3 TO 1/2 OZ DIFFERENCE IN ACTUAL WEIGHT. JUST MAKE SURE YOU COMPARE "APPLES TO APPLES". |

| Jan. 28, 2016 Clean Up 68 posts | fennellwg I am trying to compare the Miken 26 oz to the Dudley 26 oz. And the Miken 27 oz. to the Dudley 27 oz. I like both 26 and 27 ounce bats...so I'm comparing the manufacturer and swing weight...to help decide which of the 4 bat models to purchase. I would like to buy all 4 bats, but my wife would throw me out of the house if I did! |

Numbers that Alan Tanner of team 1 sports gave me would indicate that the Dudley 26 oz 13"EL swings a bit heavier than the 27 bal And the 26 oz 12" ELwill swing a bit heavier than the 13EL. A search here (using "miken swing weights") will offer opinions that the 2016 Mikens will swing a bit heavier than comparable Dudleys. But opinions will always vary and I have no direct experience. If you are shopping I believe you will find Alan to be very helpful with knowagable opinions and numbers to help you sort. Regards, Bill |

| Feb. 19, 2016 rh25 Men's 70 29 posts | I got Dudley the 27 oz 12" Dudley last season. I was dissatisfied with it. Swung too light for me. So I got the 27 oz Big Cat. It feels much more end loaded.I compared the Big Cat's balance point to all my USSSA & ASA bats as well.It was more end loaded than all of them. Go to seniorsoftballbatreviews.com. I'm pretty sure the senior bat review guys (Dave v) indicated that the 2015 model big cat swings heavier than the Dudley And the 2016 big cat swings lighter than the Dudley. If true, it would be nice if someone ( like Dave or you) would confirm with some absolutes like balance point and weight of each bat or MOI or even measured bat speed. " feel" is so subjective, it's hard to compare apples to apples, especially when trying to translate from one person to the next. Good hitters in warm places, just know and get to see and compare a lot of bats before buying. The rest of us in cold places don't get get to touch the new flavors until summer. -bill |
| Feb. 19, 2016 rh25 Men's 70 29 posts | fennellwg, I have the 2016 model. It definitely swings heavier than the 12" Dudley and is much more end loaded. I just reviewed Dave V's video before responding. He states the 2015 feels heavier than the 2016. However, I didn't hear any comparison to the Dudley. As I mentioned I took all my current bats as well as older bats comparing their balance points and the Big Cat was substantially more end loaded with one exception. That was the Demarini White Steel single wall bat that I use in a single wall league. They were comparable. |
| Feb. 19, 2016 rh25 Men's 70 29 posts | Listened to Dave's video again. He does state that the 2016 Big Cat swings heavier than the Dudleys. In fact he states he normally swings 28 oz in the Dudley but dropped down 27 oz in the 2016 Big Cat. I stopped listening too soon before. |

| Feb. 21, 2016 garyheifner 649 posts | Clean Up This is just me, OK. I have the new Miken (white) 26 oz balanced and a Dudley (Lightening) 26 oz. (black) balanced. The Dudley feels heavier when I swing it. I feel like I get faster bat speed with the Miken but can drive the ball deeper with the Dudley. Just Me. Always been a 29 0z guy. Decided to try the lighter bat speed theory last year. Deep hits reduced but mis-hits and batting average jumped up. |
