Guys : what brand ( non-prescription) is the best pair of polarized sunglasses for playing the outfield ?
dont need to spend $200.00 plus, just something reasonable that would help when the ball is coming out of the sun. non glare, not super darks, etc.
what is your experience ?
thanks !!!!!
I have a couple pairs of #5 welding glasses. The wrap a rounds were less than $15 and the "wear over my prescription glasses" (Amazon) were less than $26. You have to get through your head that the color hues will be a little different, but you can still track the ball in the field or at the plate. Just take the time to get used to them. Go to a plumbing/welding supply store, ask to test a pair, and walk outside and look into the sun. You cannot drive with them since you cannot see red. But for cheap money, they are worth looking into.
Frank,
I can get you all the polarized safety glasses you want in a couple of weeks. About ten bucks per pair. Works great for me, and don't cost a ton of money if you scratch them up. I've worn them for a long time. They're great for driving also.
Guys,
Interestingly enough, I just finished developing my own line of glasses which come with FIVE sets of lenses for under $40 including a polarized lens....if you have questions about them get in touch with me. I'll put up a review under that section soon. They are comparable to glasses costing $160 and more in fit, optics, protection, and accessories. If you are on Facebook, they are on my timeline for you to see.

Wayne, can you bring out a couple of pair to check out next time we get together ?
Alan: i'll check out your page, thanks ....
Dan, i found a pair of welding glasses and bought them , will try them out at a practice. thanks !
there is a company called " LOCS ", they make " super darks" sunglasses, and they are really dark. i bought a pair, but i only use them when the early sun is right in your eyes and i am batting... they are too dark when out in the outfield.
If you wear them too long, you will have trouble adjusting to normal light when you remove them...
Sports sunglasses need to be functional more than stylish. The glasses also need to be light, have a comfortable fit and a wraparound style, so they don't fall off and you can almost forget they're on during play. Fit and durability are important. Polarised sunglasses are good choice for softball. For more details you can visit http://elsunglasses.com online.
