Discussion: legal age

I have been told two different things regarding age. A friend turns 40 at the end of September which is after 40 world's but before winter nationals. Does he qualify to play 40 and over this year?
YES • A player's age is determined by whatever age (s)he attains during the current calendar year. Your friend is "40-eligible" in 2016 in its entirety. Good luck!
Good to hear. At one time was it not the rule that the player had to be that age group age before November 1st of that current year to coincide with the SSUSA season? Or maybe I am just confused and it was never like that.
JackZ_SLC based on my personal experience that has not been the case in Senior softball. I started playing 50s in 1996 and played the entire season at age 49. I did not turn 50 until November 12, 1996.
