its a little long, but please give your opinion......
In SPA, the rules for teams playing other teams out of their division are as follows.
The "lower" team gets 5 runs (1 per the first 4 innings and 2 in the 5th)
The game is played with the "lower" runs per inning and the "higher" HR rule

IMO , this makes it VERY hard for the "upper" team to win unless they do it in the opening inning.(one blank inning and its about over)
I think it should be played under the "lower" HR rule and the "upper" runs per inning rule.

This would also make it more fair for the lower team (which doesn't hit as many HRS) and would give the "upper" team more chances to get back the five runs they had to give the "lower" team

I also think the 5 runs should be given at the start of the game to save all the confusion with the scorekeepers.

Please let me know what everyone thinks.

Just trying to make it better for everyone.
Hopefully the masses will be heard one way or another.

Suppose I'm a major team and your triple a. You get 5 runs at the start of the game as you specified. If your the visitors and score 5 runs in the top of the 1st inning I'm down 10 with no chance to catch up when my team is up. To me that's not right.
Personally I believe the whole idea of giving up runs or an extra fielder is not right. Play straight up ball!!
I can see playing the lower level home run rule and runs per inning rule (if applicable) being used, but that's it.
Just my humble opinion

As AAA rated we played against many Major teams.

Against the upper talented Major they would always win with 20 to 35 runs a game, no chance against them.

We were a good AAA team and against Major that actually would be a good AAA we did not even need the 5 extra runs to win. Yes sometimes we won against a mid-major when hitting on all cylinders.

It is great to play the Major as long as it does not effect the outcome of your rated bracket.
