Please give your opinions

I have to give props to ISSA.
They updated the brackets (over the last weekend)all day long as the tournament was being played.
I wish SSUSA and SPA would follow suit.
In this age of technology, it is very simple to have a laptop at the fields and update the brackets with scores as soon as the games are finished.
It also give a platform for the tournament director to update weather delays, game changes, etc. (This will save a few of the many calls he gets when the weather is bad)
The person running the tournament has plenty of free time to do this.
I would also like to have all the associations post the teams that are coming to the tournament as soon as they are entered.
They might lose a team or 2 because some teams don't want to play the competition, but they might also gain a few teams when we see they are more than 2 teams in a division.
Just my 2 cents worth
I hope this message stays up so people can comment.

I do want to add that SSUSA is the only association that has a message board.
I have tried to get SPA and ISSA to put one on their website.
I think most of the players enjoy it.

SPA had a message board at one time but it wasn't maintained. Their staff never responded to any and all questions asked of them. It never really worked.

No worries Coop3636 ... We'll leave this up so long as the commentary is responsible ... We maintain this M/B only under a sense of commitment to the participants in our sport simply because no other association, as you mentioned, does ... (We publish the Senior Softball News under the same theory of "..someone has to..") ... We also suspect, based on your recent personal experience, that you know how difficult it is to gain a M/B following ...

We believe in freedom of speech and we tolerate a lot of criticism directed at us in our own house, some of which is even occasionally fair! ... Anonymous keyboard courage drives much of the commentary, and that's fine, but it would sure be nice if people posted only what was factually accurate (one can always dream) and that they would say to your face in person ... That's not the culture of this Message Board ... But it's also the reason we will never make any policy or Rules Committee Agenda decisions based on the commentary from here ... So, enjoy, have fun, play nice and don't take it too seriously ... We don't! ...

Thanks SSUSA
I know running an association this big is a BIG headache.
I have lots of ideas and suggestions, but they are only my opinion. Most of what I suggest come from running tournaments for 20 years (and the mistakes I made) and seeing the mistakes some tournaments and tournament directors keep making year after year.
With the technology we have nowadays, there is so much we can do to better senior softball (more participation, more teams at tournaments, more investors, etc)
There are MANY over 50 softball players that don't even know there is a place for them to play. If they ever would come out , they would be hooked again.
Thanks for keeping the post up.
