looking for a 50m to becoming a 50MP sponsor or part sponsor in So Cal
e are a up and coming team in So Cal looking for a sponsor if your a upper division player and a sponsor lets talk we play all the SSUSA tournaments some Marv`s and some GSL/USSSA.
We are planning a golf fundraiser August 28th 8am to help with the team and maybe a 2 pitch tournament also. I believe we will have a top team in the 50`s next year and would like to get some help to make sure we are. So i hope this lands on the right eyes or ears.
Thank you Patrick in JT

Players who matriculate to the next higher age group "take their experience history rating with them" ... A 40-AAA moves up as a 50-AAA, same is true with a 40-Major (to 50-Major) or 40-Major+ (to 50-Major+) ...

At your rate of about a post an hour (23 in the past 24 hours), NO, I will not be continuing this personal I/M session ... I am not the authority on eligibility "what if's" ... ONE phone call to our office asking for Tiffany, Anthony or George, ALL of whom are qualified in this regard, should answer all of your concerns ... My expertise is writing the tournament schedules, and right NOW my priority is the 280± game SoCal State Championships and the 160± game Northeast Championships, BOTH of which begin in less than 10 days ... Patrick, yes, this is a place of discussion but you seem to want to have a 1 on 1 discussion with SSUSA about rules hence them asking you to please call OR email (which you said you could do). Yet instead you came on this board asking them "where are you" or "are you on lunch", really? They are here to help us and answer our questions but you have had a lot more than most in a very short amount of time, not a bad thing but possibly should should switch to decaf?

Just so you know, I also had a few questions myself and emailed them earlier today and still don't have a response but believe it will happen sooner or later, patience my friend is a virtue.

Good luck to you this year and I hope that everything works out for you and your team because softball is a GREAT game! :-)

patrick jt, you are correct that our skills go down the older we get. And so do the skills of all the other 55-year-olds! The result: still a Major. In fact, it's even more radical for some. I began playing at AA level as most of us did. Graduated to AAA in my mid-60s, and then I found myself at Major level as I got older! Did I get better? No, I just stayed healthy and improved relative to others my age declining with injuries and poor health. Stay healthy, my friend.

Patrick Jt,

Grants Posse finished 1st 2014 LV Worlds 55 Major and in 2013 they finished 3rd in LV Worlds in 50 Major. So how can you say you wasted your time in the past few years. It appears now you are trying to get 55 year old Major Plus player or players to be rated 50 Major.

Oh one more thing Grants Posse never once played in any Major Plus events in LV Worlds after being bumped up. How does a team win LV Worlds in 55 Major in 2014 and 3rd in 2013 50 Major and never show up the following year to play in there respected Major Plus Division.

Patrick Jt,

so your saying that nobody on your new proposed Grant's Posse roster from SoCal, will be from any of the old Grant's Posse teams also from SoCal.

What a coincidence that you just so happened to pick the same name and you also stated that you might change the name and you are discussing 55 Major Plus players to be able to play 50 Major.

I didn't say the 50's won, I said they finished 3rd which is an automatic bump up. Why does it really matter neither one of those teams ever stepped up and played Major Plus the following year and now 2-3 years later. It appears to me that you are trying put together a 50 team not quite sure if it going to be a Major or Major Plus. It really doesn't matter what the player index is if you are going to play Major Plus. It only matters if you are trying to play Major's and are trying to have more than 3 chips (ie. players with Major Plus Index). I would guess that it would be a Major team based on 3 things:

1. Your questions are in regards to 55 player rating index for 50's
2. Grant's Posse hasn't ever stepped up and played Major Plus
3. It has been 2-3 years since they were bumped to Major Plus

what i am getting at is i am a 55 year old playing 50s i want to play 55s but and considered a major plus in the 55s i should not be a major plus player and be a chip in the 55s this is where it was going when i was asking the question. I am a little confused your thread starts in regards to a 50 Major team, moving to 50 Major Plus and looking for a sponsor. Now it is in regards to you being rated as 55 Major Plus, wanting to be re-classed to a 55 Major. I would guess that SSUSA is going to look at your timeline on when you were first rated 55 Major Plus and evaluate your past 2 years playing experience. Hopefully you didn't just sit out for 2 years. Once again why would it matter to you unless you are trying to have more thank 3 Major Plus index players on one Major team. So are you trying to make a 55 Major team that could possibly have more than 3 guys from the Grant's Posse 55 Major team that won worlds in 2014 55 Major? If not your agenda doesn't seem to correspond to line of questioning.

If you personally want your player index to change, as stated you need to contact SSUSA yourself and discuss it with them.

Good Luck

patrick ... I'm not sure you are old enough to remember, but you sound like Peter Falk's character Columbo (that's not a bad thing) ... He always had "...just one more thing..." to consider or ask ... You distribute additional pieces of factual information a little bit at a time and tweak the facts an inch at a time ... There are exceptions to a player's experience history depending on whether or not he played "out of rating" only once, and at what level he may have done so ... The rating history of the teams is a factor, as well as evaluating if you are playing (or have played) in multiple age groups simultaneously ...

You are doomed to be here posting 15± times a day, getting NO reliable guidance, until you call the SSUSA office, identify yourself and let us look into your player history ... I can assure you we CANNOT help you under your current public rambling approach ... The time you would spend on the phone with us will be only a tiny fraction of the time you are spending typing "unanswerable" questions currently ... We're here to help you, but "here" is the office, not this forum ...

But he has the time during his "busy" hours to hit this board almost 50 times? I'm really sure that if Patricia (payback for Spanky) would send an email to SSUSA and explain his current "busy schedule with meetings", someone would call him back after office hours. He must be a real trip in those "meetings".

wdodge22, I understand that some employers are really tight about personal phone calls while on the job, but patrick jt's is really extreme. Evidently patrick doesn't get a lunch break within an 8-hour shift. That would be illegal in California where Patrick lives, and very rare. Second, his employer doesn't even allow bathroom breaks within a shift (many a personal phone call has been made while sitting on the john). This is not only illegal, but inhumane. And obviously his employer must not permit any personal time off or medical leave which is rare for any competitive company seeking to retain good employees.

I feel sorry for Patrick. Maybe his time would be better spent searching for a new employer.

I hesitate doing this but I thought I should jump in and try to straighten a few things out. First the history> Grants Posse finished 3rd at World's in 2013 but were NOT bumped to major plus. This is because they had been bumped from AAA three months prior and SSUSA didn't believe it was right to bump a team twice in under six months (which I applaud by the way). In the 2014 season the guys that were 55 started a 55 team and the guys who were left from the 50's started the Vandals (at least a large majority of them).

The 55 team struggled most of the 2014 season with players but finally put it together in late July. The end result was that we got hot and won the World's. The team was of course bumped to major plus. As it is with most teams that get bumped to Major plus many of the players jumped ship and went to play 50 major. The Grant's Posse 55 team tried to stay together. We picked up a few players and went to Phoenix in 2015 and finished in 2nd place as a major plus team. Again we lost players but tried to play again at a Top Gun tournament in Menfiee. The team at that point was not the same and we got waxed pretty good. At that point we were forced to disband due to lack of players.

At this time I started a Grant's Posse 50 AAA team. Patrick was added in Sacramento to help us out. As a side note this team never won a tournament but made Sunday at the World's and was bumped to major.

As to his questions. I think I can answer them (at least I hope).

Patrick is 55 but playing on 50 major team. Patrick if you go play 55 you are still a 55 major player. You do not get penalized for playing up an age group. Your rating goes with you.

Where this is a problem is that if you wanted to play 50 AAA then you would be a considered one of three major players a team can have even though your age is 55. If you wanted to be considered a 50 AAA player you would have to get history on a 55 major team. SSUSA considers your history for most of the ratings. When you go down in age your rating drops but you still have to have history at the higher age. I think a lot of guys don't understand this. They believe that because they are 55 they should be able to play on a 50 team and play down a level. Again this is not the case without some history at 55.

Dave if this is not correct then I would love your feedback

I hope this at least answers some of the questions.

Thanks GS101 for some clarification. However let me assure everyone that patrick jt does not represent Grant's Posse. Frankly I'm not sure I could pick him out of a lineup. I allow the Grant's Posse teams to be autonomous from the 55M+ team. Our 55M+ team is an evolution of what we started in 2012.
On behalf of Grant's Posse let me apologize for patrick jt. And patrick jt, you need to call your manager and get my phone number, WE need to talk!

Thanks GS101 ... That's a pretty good theoretical analysis ... But he STILL needs to contact our office, since anything posted here is NOT to be relied upon ... Also, any manager who tries to add him electronically to a Master or Tourney Roster will likely have problems until we override the fundamental inconsistency in his age and rating experience history numbers ... This is our last post on topic ... HELP IS JUST A PHONE CALL AWAY! ...
