Long weekend tournaments
I like to know, why there are no tournaments on the calander on long weekends anymore, i.e. 4th of July,Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Seems to me way back when those where the best Tournament weekends around.

Just wondering?

grayhitter59 .. SSUSA "wraps" the Rock 'n Reno tournament around the Memorial Day Holiday, but we are "dark" on Memorial Day itself ... The one year we played in Reno on Memorial Day, there was strong sentiment to not do so again because of the travel inconveniences, either heavy auto traffic on the roads or unreasonably expensive air flights ... We can't speak for the other associations, who may or may not do so ...

I understand now, the cost on traveling those weekends are much more than others.

Thank You

I would add that in our youth, we did play on those 3 day weekends often. With the senior community now being older, we prefer to leave those weekends to spend with family and grand kids.
