Thank you sir... if you know .... were there any changes made to the bat or should I just by a 2015 model?

The changes are subtle. Mainly just some additional grip spin tacky material so that it stays on the barrel longer. The overall construction of the bat remains the same as it should....it's a good combination of durability and performance.

ASU,
I'm going to take a stab at this but this is my GUESS based on a few things I've heard. They very well could show up before Vegas but remember their other bat is still in inventory at their warehouse and with their REAL dealers. They probably want to sell down some inventory first and there is also the planning for production time since they do not own their own production facility. The bats are made where other companies bats and hockey sticks are made so production runs must be pre planned in advance.

It's official! Dudley 2.0' boxes have landed and I will be randomly selecting bats to test and review in the coming days. I am pretty sure these first batch bats will be just as good or better than the previous model. If you need help with questions get with me....

I received 2017 Dudley 2.0 13", 27 oz. end load today. I put 75 swings on it. Definitely not broken in yet. So far, I feel I have to labor and muscle my swing a bit to get distance with the new Dudley bat, compared to my adidas melee 2 endload. At 75 swings, I don't feel the ball jumps off the bat yet. I was using evil bp 44/400 balls. I will hold off on judging this bat till I can get 200-300 swings on it.

Guys,
Here is some feedback from the tournament that I was at this weekend and from players around the country that I have gotten bats to. ....
"The hottest bat out of the wrapper I have ever swung" was by far the overwhelming response and comment that I am hearing. The second most common was "I need to get another one"
I told Dudley when they were redoing the bat if they could just make it 1-2% better on break in that it would be a real winner. Obviously, they got the job done right. These first batch bats are VERY good. I am working on a more in depth analysis after I finish up with the bats that I am hitting but everything points to another for sure top of the line senior bat with the new Lightning 2.0. Contact me for more info....

My new balanced Dudley 2.0 arrived! We played this weekend in Tracy, Ca. and I really felt good swinging my Melee. I am looking forward to taking some hits with the Lightning and comparing it to the Melee. I'm hoping it is as good as the Adidas or better. I put my new Dudley on a food scale and it weighs exactly the same as my Melee, both 26 1/4 oz which is great. thanks a bunch for the speedy delivery Alan Tanner.

Alan, which of the 3 bats were swinging? Let us know after more testing, which bat you prefer, the original ones or the Dudley 2's.

Also if you tried the Melee 2, which bat do you like more between the 2. I'm in the market for a bat and I'm torn between the Melee 2 EL and the 13 " Dudley. Any feedback you have wold be much appreciated as always.

Thanks, Tony

Tony,
I will be swinging some of each model. We have had a lot of rain here in the last few days so I have not been able to get out to hit. Today and tomorrow are also forecasted for rain so I'll see how it goes.. Both bats you mentioned are very good and it's early on in the process but it seems that the Dudley is slightly more fore giving than the Adidas in the early rounds. I will continue on as soon as I can so I have a larger body of work to report on. I don't like to make decisions too early without examining a variety of bats not just a couple. I'll get back to it ASAP.

AJC,
Broke in another13" el for a player early this morning. Last years 13" traditionally was tougher to break in but I'll say this....75 swings and we have significant changes. At 110 swings the bat was performing among the top senior bats and just getting better. So.....break in on all the new Dudleys is better and quicker than last years models and durability is still a strong point. The Dudley engineers are right on point here and this bat is incredibly good. I'm continuing on with the 12" and durability testing too. Everything is pointing to the Dudley being even better than the first models. Call me with questions.

Alan,

I was under the impression that the new Dudleys were the same bat just wrapped differently. If that is not the case, other then less swings to break them in, what other changes / improvements are there?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark,
Subtle differences but as I told Dudley, if you can make it 1% better it's a huge winner,,,,and they did. Break in is slightly easier resulting in more very high performance swings in the overall bats lifespan. They changed the grip spin so that it will last longer on the barrel over the life of the bat. So far, I have found both points to be true. Couple that with the extreme durability the Dudley bats possess and you have a very top level senior bat in your hands.

Alan,

I used to swing the 27oz balanced Dudley (still in bag and a great bat) but recently switched to the 27oz Melee 2 EL. I am thinking of picking up the new 27oz Dudley EL to add. I assume your references are all regarding the new Dudley EL and not the balanced?

Yellow,
Yes my last post was about hitting a 13" el but I have hit the balanced and 12" and they are all very good with consistent characteristics that we want in a senior bat. Last years 13" el took a bit longer to break in than the others but it appears that they have smoothed tha out this year and all of them are pretty much the same. It just comes down to which one feels best to the player. If you need any help just pick up the phone.

Bought a new balanced and I must have gotten a lemon because my old Dudley was hotter out of the wrapper than the new one.

FOFO,
This isn't uncommon in composite bats although a vast majority of the new 2.0 Dudley are breaking in quickly. There are always a few stubborn ones in the bunch as I found yesterday with another manufacturers bat. I have broken in over 150 of these and this one....made my back hurt! But....about an extra 115 swings got me to what we are all looking for, a very high performing senior bat. So.... Squeeze that lemon of yours a bit harder and longer and I'm sure you will get...lemonade. Good luck!

Recently bought the Dudley 2.0 26 oz balanced. Has about 50 swings on it. I'm not a home run hitter, ball was coming off the bat nicely. Player on our 60 team who is a home run hitter asked if he could try it, as he's looking into buying a new bat. He took 5 swings with it and put 2 out approx 325 over 20 foot fence with used BP balls. Other 3 swings were solid line drives. His only criticism was the light weight and he is torn between the 12" and 13" end load.

Am looking forward to using it at Ft. Myers in a few weeks.
