Discussion: Established 50s AAA Team Looking for a Few Players

Injury bug has bitten us pretty hard this summer and we're looking for a few players to finish out the year. We could use middle infielders or outfielders; extra emphasis on shortstops. Our intentions are to play at least 2 or 3 more tournaments this year within a 250-300 mile radius of northern Virginia.

Team make-up: we are mostly (97%) military retiree/veterans and play under Old Corps Classic. Easy-going bunch but the war stories can get pretty animated. You do not have to be a Marine or veteran to play for us.

ALL PLAYERS regardless of your military affiliation or service are WELCOMED to inquire.

Thanks for reading and hopefully will see you at a tournament near you!

I am 59 play infield primarily pitch and play first or second. Not a power hitter more of a contact hitter. Decent glove and bat. Contact me at 502-424-0788 or bescully14@gmail.com
Gonzo...It's lefty...Guess who's old enough to play Seniors?! Hit me up if you still need a player!
Lefty - Congrats and welcome to 50! Let's talk, I can definitely use someone with your skillsets.

If you'received still looking, I'm in South Carolina but can travel. Just starting to play 50 & over. I'm certainly looking to get more reps if possible. Play outfield and, I have played 2nd and 3rd in the past.
Teepee29er - Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately there's a "bordering state" rule in SSUSA and don't think I can legally add you to my roster. Keep looking though, there are plenty of great teams in SC, NC, GA and TN that could use you.

Good Luck!

Gonzo what's up bro. Let me know if u need me this wknd.
is this for tournaments? I just turned 55, but played in Burlington North carolina Labor day weekend in the 50 and over tournament and received the all tournament mvp award.
I am interested in talking to your team about possibly joining. I am 53 years old and have played 3 years of 50 Major for a few really good teams. I live in NC. I play outfield. Great speed and OBP. I think I might know a few guys on your team that might know me. I also have some pop and can track down anything hit my way in the OF. Let me know if there is an interest. Thanks.
Gonzo #20: TRIED OUT FOR THE TEAM LAST YEAR BUT I GUESS IT WASN'T IN THE CARDS TO PLAY FOR YOU ALL. SO I WILL TRY AGAIN THIS YEAR. I DID PLAY IN A MEN'S 50 AND OVER TOURNAMENT TEAM LAST YEAR IN NORTHERN VA. I CAN PLAY ANY WHERE IN THE INFIELD AND I HAVE A PRETTY GOOD BAT AS WELL. SO IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PLAYERS FOR NEXT YEAR YOU CAN E-MAIL ME AT BROTHERSNORT@GMAIL.COM. THANKS.THE TEAM I PLAYED FOR WAS THE PATRIOTS.

I am looking a team
Chief - Thanks for your interest. Unfortunately Old Corps Classic has not/will not field a team this year due to a variety of reasons I don't want to get into on this forum. We do reserve the right to re-establish the team in a year or two should we have renewed interest. Thanks to all that have responded and wish everyone continued good health to continue playing the game we love.
