| Aug. 15, 2016 softball4b Men's 70 1248 posts | Top Gun Summer Classic FYI - there is a major soccer tournament this weekend in San Clemente/San Juan area and weather is going to be NICE! Traffic will be at a standstill after 10AM and I doubt there will be any places to hit. Don't care, can't wait to play!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Aug. 17, 2016 softball4b Men's 70 1248 posts | Update on Traffic. Friday night till 11AM Saturday they are closing traffic on the freeway at Ave Pico to one lane. Going to be a nightmare for those with mid morning games. I am working on having the daily scores posted via a website. I will keep you informed. |
| Aug. 17, 2016 16wood Men's 65 77 posts | Avenida La Pata will is now open all the way to Ortega Hwy and then becomes Antonio Parkway. This will help the guys coming in from IE or RSM, Foothill Ranch, Mission Viejo, Ladera, etc. IE guys can take 241 until it ends, go west on Oso to Antonio, south to fields. Leaving Steed Park is simpler now if you're going north... On Fri, coming southbound on Antonio/La Pata is made more difficult near San Juan Hills HS as const reduces it to one lane... peak traffic times are based upon parents dropping kids off at SJHHS or picking them up (7:45am and 2:45pm)... I sat there for 15 minutes yesterday at 2:45pm. This shouldn't be as much of an issue on Sat/Sun. Guys getting hung up on I-5 can take Ortega Hwy east to Antonio/La Pata, turn right and go straight to park... it's maybe 5 miles from Ortega to fields. (given the same parameters as stated above). | Aug. 18, 2016 Crash1 Men's 60 9 posts | Gentlemen, the road opened on Saturday last week. If only we moved as fast as you want goggle maps to. Mike, your right about the traffic. I live in Rancho Mission Viejo and traffic has really picked up now that Antonio Parkway goes through to San Clemente. Give yourself extra time to get to the fields. When I drove through that area 2 days my car Nav system showed an extremely faint line for the connection. But I can attest to its completion... perhaps they've solved the const issue by now but I cannot swear to it... again, it's only impacting the southbound lanes and only at peak times. BW |

| Aug. 20, 2016 Jerry820 Men's 60 77 posts | I still don't why teams don't bring ice chest to the tournament. Ote has been using the ice chest for years now and we never run out of water. We use about 160 to 180 bottles of water on a 3 day tournament. Thus is just a simple solution to not drink out of those orange jugs that are in the dugout not to tasty I might add. We buy the water at Costco all the time and u can buy the case at about &6.99 at 80 bottle per case plus crv at $4.00 a case. Now if your in Vegas there is no crv!! Well that's it and to all the teams good luck this year in Vegad and have fun. ⚾️⚾️⚾️🍻😎 |
| Aug. 22, 2016 Katzy63 Men's 60 24 posts | Teams don't bring ice chests to tournaments because after lugging them a half mile to the field entrance they have to march the chest right back out to their vehicle. Sure you can sneak water in, but you'll never sneak an ice chest past someone charging you money at the gate to enter the facility. |

You can also fill it up with there ice also. You have 15 guys on your roster well somebody will give you help. We do it all the time where ever we go Micheal. Don't be so lazy. Haha!!! Just go to Costco and but the small bottle for $6.99 and get 80 bottles very simple. Jerry |
| Aug. 24, 2016 Katzy63 Men's 60 24 posts | HAHAHA!! I'm not lazy, I always drop a couple of frozen bottles in the bottom of my bag to thaw and drink throughout the day if I'm playing. If I'm umpiring it's a whole different story LOL. But I have that collapsible ice chest on wheels that I bought at Costco and strap that to my bike for the ride. Coolness on my backside feels good in the heat. HAHAHA! |
