Vegas Worlds
The dates for the 65's at Worlds show this is a 4 day tournament. Dave is this a typo ?

Sure, it would be nice to know exactly where our fields would be so we could find a hotel (LOTS of options in Vegas) within close distance for the tourney. But c'mon, mad dog, in our California tournaments, some guys get up early and drive 2-4 hours for a late start Saturday game, just to save one night's Friday night cost of a hotel. You've done it too, I'm sure. Driving an extra 20 minutes to a distant Vegas site is not a backbreaker.

As to playing more than two games, our older team played only two games each day last year, and most guys felt it was one of the sweetest tournaments they had been in—avoided draining oneself in the heat, fresher each day and playing our best, results probably the same as seeding rounds and then a long bracket, lots of free time to make the wives happy, come home Wednesday night if willing to.

oamr no its not...but i hate that damn vegas traffic.....10 minute trip takes 45 minutes in their traffic.....yeah i used to do that also for the cali tourneys....but also back then i had an rv that i would drive to them and would drive up the nite before and park at the fields....have also done that in vegas when i had it....yeah 2 games does make for easy days...but at an extra expense to us....some of us don't have money to burn when on retirement pay....

Plus, there are four tournament sessions and the entry deadline has not passed for any of them. Obviously, SSUSA will work on the sessions in the order they occur. 65's is the third session...and the only one that plays during the week, which means it has to compete for fields with leagues. Sure, it would be nice to know the fields and game times well in advance but the logistics for this tournament are staggering and the 65's are still 5 weeks out. Besides, as Omar says, none of them are really that far.

mad dog, my entire team is on retirement pay. I don't know about the others, but I stay in very modest casinos (under $50 usually), eat just for fuel, set my gambling limit at $20, and never go to see a show. Of course, if my wife were going...all bets off. My time is free so I stay at places away from the strip and just get up earlier to make the first game.

omar.....i get joked about for my going thru the travel websites....i do look for the cheapest ones....don't gamble...and pack a lot of food when i go for more than a couple of days....my favorite hotel and a lot of times the cheapest is extended stay america's....to me $50 a nite is way to expensive....last yr in vegas it was $25 a nite at super 8...on the strip....but i prefer to be off the strip....oh and don't liken casino's...

Bob, quit riding a donkey to vegas, then you wouldn't have traffic problems, but of course you then need a stable.

We love the extra day of ball as it gets our team some time to dial in. We don't get as many tournament choices to play in up North so appreciate the extra ball, hot or not will take 6 plus games anytime.

Dog you getting grumpy already? :-)Good luck in Vegas and see you in St. George.
