Labor Day Classic Postponement
Why was the Labor Day Classic Tournament scheduled for 25 - 28 August in San Marcos, TX suddenly postponed today? The site states the "impending rain forecast for Friday-Sunday" as the reason but there is only a 20 percent chance of showers each day through the weekend in the local area. We've played tournaments here in Texas when the weather forecast was way worst than this. Now the forecast has been the same all week. Why would the powers that be wait until the day before the tournament was scheduled to begin to postpone it? Travel and accommodation plans had already been made. (I would assume some teams where already in route to the area.) And it was moved to the Labor Day holiday weekend? I'm sure we can't expect the same turnout for the tournament as many holiday family plans have already been made. I'm just about sure our team won't be able to participate next weekend as we'll have several players out of the loop for the holiday. (And we still need to qualify some players for Las Vegas too.) I don't want to sound like I'm complaining...because I'm not. (Just a concerned senior player.) I just want to know why did it take so long to make the decision to postpone the tournament. We have got to do a better job of looking out for and taking care of our teams and players gentlemen.

Check the USA site guys, it's been rescheduled. In through the nose and out through the mouth. That's better, you're BP is starting to come down.

What a mess, word is the 50-55 will play this weekend but in Sequin, tx. The re-schedule has been re-scheduled due to calls to Sacramento. 60's and up will play next weekend San Marcos, I think. Your going to need a scorecard with a eraser to keep up with this tournament. Haven't see anything official on any website.

I don't know all of the details why the Labor Day Classic in San Marcos, TX was cancelled and rescheduled to be played in Seguin, TX. I know that as a player who has played in a lot of tournaments in Texas, we are use to summer thunderstorms, it is welcome relief when we the rains come and cools things down for a moment. I have played in Texas Tournaments where the ump had to use a water bottle as a reference point for 2b, we dealt with it.
Play Ball!!!

From what I understand, some tournament director double booked the fields. Teams are dropping so fast they might have enough to do the whole thing in one day.

I'm sure everybody wants to go find a room on Labor Day weekend with people in town wanting to float the river.

Pathetic state of affairs.
