| Sept. 3, 2016 Benji4 Men's 55 289 posts | SSUSA Arizona Director Rick Seifman Just got word from an established senior softball player that he drove 3 hours to a Rick Seifman ran tournament today, and was met at the gate by Seifman who told the player he could not play in the tournament because the player criticized Seifman on this message board. Seifman said. "It's my tournament and I can do whatever I want." The player then had no choice but to drive 3 hours home. This is complete BS............ It's time for SSUSA to get rid of Seifman as a SSUSA director. Does SSUSA really want a guy like Seifman representing them? Seifman bans a player from playing in his tournaments because the player gave his opinions on a message board. Really? I apologize to the Arizona guys who were afraid to post their name when talking about Seifman. It's obvious Seifman is a vindictive ASS.............. It's time for SSUSA to get rid of Seifman and for people to start boycotting his tournaments. |

I pitched for the Fort Worth Posse from 2005-07, we had a pretty good run during them years winning it once, and I believe losing to you guys one year during the trophy rounds as well. I never go to play the police softball.com though, for some reason the clown that ran that association didn't think Fish & Wildlife officers were police, but prison guards where. lol |

| Sept. 6, 2016 L.Martin Men's 50 47 posts | I played the Dayton tournament a few times, by boys always loved the mini bat they gave us, Metro and NYPD Blues where just to tuff to handle, the Ohio, Michigan and Minnesota Lawmen where pretty good as well. Pulse at the time was the only true police tournament around I believe. |

| Sept. 6, 2016 Punch Men's 60 18 posts | Played with LASD from 1975 to 2003. Post retirement with So. Cal. Combo, LASD Gray, and Norwalk SD. I also competed in the California, Arizona, and Nevada Olympics, and later the Police and Fire Summer Games, International Games and World Police and Fire Games. I competed in both fast pitch, and slow pitch softball, table tennis...singles and doubles, handball, and racquetball. Many great memories. |

| Sept. 6, 2016 Benji4 Men's 55 289 posts | Fabe you guys had some good Hawaii teams back in the day. I don't think most people realize the quality of Law Enforcement softball then and now. I'm not to concerned about a thread hijack. I'm sure Seifman knows I don't care for him. I just think his antics are bad for senior softball. I played a few years with Dbax on the Softball Whores. One of the best teams I was associated with... I have been lucky enough to travel to a lot of great places to play softball: Detroit, Virginia Beach, Nevada, Tahoe, St. Louis, Kansas City, Vegas, Dayton, Houston, Jacksonville, and so on....... Still talk to Delbert and Jan and am trying to convince Delbert to get back to playing..... Nice reminiscing and knowing a lot of former Law Enforcement guys are still competing. |

I was so disappointed when I found out he was getting into Seniors... Our Team is thinking about just making trips to California instead of dealing with him. Hope I'm not band in Arizona now. lol |
| Sept. 7, 2016 Uncle Mike Men's 60 122 posts | Don't want to throw gas on the fire, but I would be extremely angry if I drove 3 hours each way to play in a tournament- and I was not allowed to play. Wasn't this player already approved by the SSUSA office ? If he was an approved player- Where is it in the rule book that says the TD can keep a player in good standing, from playing in a sanctioned event by SSUSA ? If he didn't start a ruckus at the tournament, which would be covered by the Code of Ethics- then the TD has no authorization by rule, to not allow him to play in this tournament. Whether he's upset with him or not. The TD has no authority to suspend or prohibit a paid registered player from participating in a tournament that he paid SSUSA a personal registration fee to play in. A TD's integrity has to be above reproach. He/ she should be the most composed and mature person at the venue. If they can not separate their personal feelings from their professional obligations, they shouldn't be allowed to continue as a TD for SSUSA. I understand they are human, I understand they have feelings. It's like being an umpire, you need to be able to take some criticism. Whether it is warranted or not. There had to be a certified roster- which is an agreement between my team and SSUSA. SSUSA agrees that I can bring these players to Anytown, USA. To play in this age/ skill group for $$$ on these dates. If I was the team manager you can bet I would of pulled my team out of the tournament- if one of my players was banned, and settled it with a phone call on Monday. If you think about it, that kind of decision affects the whole team. One person should not have that type of authority, to ban someone just because there is a personal issue. Obviously, this isn't the 1st verbal complaint about Mr Seifman. There should be a formal complaint filed, for each transgression. And an investigation should follow. This type of behavior, can not be tolerated. We are paying SSUSA for a service, a level and unbiased playing field to compete against one another. Rules are in place for everyone !!! | Sept. 15, 2016 Joncon 328 posts | I don't play senior ball anymore but I'll chime in again in support for Rick. Put yourself in his shoes for just one minute. Babysitting hundreds of ADULTS on a weekly basis is a CHORE and he has been doing it for DECADES. The fact is, he can't please everybody. No one can. It has been my observation that softballers cry, whine, bitch and moan about the same crap over and over again and rarely take enough responsibility for their own actions. I've also noticed that only the losing teams complain. I don't know how accurate this third hand information from "an established senior player" is but, if you are going to publicly bash someone, you should own it and be prepared for a counter attack. After all, this is his livelihood. If you know of a better solution to the myriad of issues that constantly come up (scheduling, classifications etc), maybe offer up your suggestions in a normal discussion instead of bitching about them. Until then, quit crying, act like grown men, play ball and have some damn fun. |

I have personally lived it so I will be responsible for it. Let Rick come on this message board and defend himself I welcome it. The established senior player like other players hosed by Rick didn't want his name revealed because Rick would vindictively screw him again. You can support Rick that's fine but don't say anyone was whining or crying. Just stating accurate facts about Rick's antics. Since you don't play senior ball anymore maybe you shouldn't chime in. Go back to playing shuffleboard and leave the message board to those that play............. Benji |
