| Dec. 30, 2016 OZ40 549 posts | Breakthrough in knee replacement I don't know how long this has been out there but I just saw a story on the local news station regarding knee replacement. There is now technology that allows 3D printing of your replacement knee. I think a scan is taken of your hip, knee and ankle and then a 3D printer makes a knee resembling your current knee for a better alignment, fit, and recovery. Makes sense, instead of you adapting to your new knee, your new knee is now custom adapted to you. Probably other joints can use the same technology or soon will. |
