Ball Exit Speed Testing and top Pro Speed Demos..Swing Makeover #52
An interesting look at our first attempts this winter to use ball exit speed testing to see improvements made on line drive exit speed and homeruns. Shows a relationship between distance and mph achieved. Top young pros video'd with ball exit speed meter behind them.

Yes, another great video!
Using my Swing Speed Radar I clocked Bret Kreuger at 103mph. I would like to see what he does on your radar!

Bogie, with my Swing Speed Radar and a balanced bat I was able to reach 93mph. It wasn't a swing that I would have used in a game, I was swinging out of my shoes!! I'm very happy with a speed somewhere in the 80's.
I can't wait until Cocoa Beach to try yours again.

Bogie another great video, really enjoy watching the Pro's swing. I have the Pocker Radar on my website under store. We use it in our Slowpitch Hitting Academies. Easy to use and accurate tool to help in swing development and keep track of your progress plus it's a lot of fun to work use. The more you use it, the better the information and understanding the information. Offer senior discount and discount if you attend one of our Academies. Exit speed is where it's at not bat speed (although bat speed can be important.)

You better make sure you get behind that pitching net pretty darn quickly pitching to that crew.

Thanks Bogie.
Always fun yet humbling to compare swings with the big kids.
Have you ever measured bat speed in addition to batted ball speed?
The wizards that conduct BPF testing for SSUSA claim peak BBS is about 20% higher than corresponding bat speed.
So I was wondering if you folks had similar observations.

It makes sense that batted ball speed is the true objective. But when comparing BBS with bat speed it would seem hard to have one without the other.
Thanks again,
Bill

I think you are going to see alot more testing and results of ball exit speed from many who are interested. We will have more as time goes on but are in our infancy of testing.

Interesting video. How does the radar unit know what to pick-up? How does it know it's supposed to pick out the ball leaving the bat? In other words, why doesn't it first pick-up the ball as it is pitched or the bat speed? Could this unit determine bat speed?

we are just going by what their literature says...sometimes though, when you say hit 70 mph on the meter, yet the ball is a poorly struck dribbler, you know it tested the bat speed. The exit speed on a decently struck ball is higher than the batspeed using todays equipment...so our understanding is it picks up mostly exit speeds...if you don't swing, it will pick up pitch speed. Alot of learning to do on it.
