Hollywood Park Vegas Help
Can you guys with experience at Hollywood Park in Vegas help us out? We haven't played there, can you help us with how to prepare? Satellite view makes it look awful! Are there bleachers? Is there any shade at all? I need to plan if we need to bring chairs, shade etc for the wives.
As for the players, are the fields as rough as they look online?
Any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks!

Hollywood Park was closed for a little over a year, and just recently re-opened, while the two existing fields were completely re-done and a third brand new field was added on the SE side ... Clark County also constructed a new services/bathroom structure to eliminate the former use of Porta-A-John's or hiking down to the Community Center ... Shade trees can best be described as "non-existent", so plan on bring-your-own for the one day you will be playing there ... The Google Earth imagery is from early November last year, which is not reflective of late April growth patterns ... The Clark Co. people and our own who have gone out there are very pleased with the level of improvement ... "New" Hollywood should be clearly superior to "Old" Hollywood, but of course an objective evaluation next weekend will be more accurate than pre-event non-current speculation ... Good luck!

D.Litch ... Sun/Shade shouldn't be an issue for your fans on Friday ... You guys have 8:30 and 10:00 AM games and could be back by the pool at the hotel around noon! ... Good luck!

Came to vegas early cuz I got some free nights and to take in some shows. Went by Hollywood it does have the new bathrooms which is a major improvement. As for the fields they maintain their reputation bare spots and uneven outfield. The outfield could double for a cow pasture. I hope they mow it b4 Friday. Shadow rock likewise pretty much the same except the grass has been mowed. Still that huge burm from the infield /outfield grass

Also field 3 on the NE side looks small as if a fast pinch field. Field four on the SE side is a baseball field. Large dirt infield with really deep outfields

The smaller field on the NE is in fact a fast-pitch/Little League type field (200' fencing) ... The new field on the SE has concentric 300' fences all the way around, as do the other two softball fields ... The infield/outfield grass cut distance, measured from Home plate thru second base to the grass cut, is 115' on all three fields, so there's nothing disproportionate between the infield sizes or outfield fence distances of the three softball fields ... The perspective of looking from the new field back toward the mountains instead of out across the City may alter your perception, but all three fields are virtually identical standard regulation softball fields ...

Well the game schedule is wrong on the site cuz 3 is the fastpitch.....which isn't a big deal cuz I think we can all figure that out

1bounce ... Why am I NOT surprised that a governmental entity would number the "three-of-a-kind" fields #1, #2 and #4? ... That's hilarious! ... I'll re-number the schedules later today to swap out #3 for #4 ... I'm going to be seeing it personally for the first time since the re-do later in the week ... Thanks for your observations! ...
