VEGAS SW CHAMPIONSHIPS
First of all right out of the gate I want to say thanks Dave for putting on another fantastic senior softball tournament! All of your staff was nothing less than professional as usual. All of the teams that we played showed nothing but class and their enjoyment and dedication to the game as we tried to do as well! I want to congratulate Patrick and the OG team (a fun and great bunch of guys) for double dipping Showtime (also a great bunch of ball players and gentleman) and winning it all! See u guys in Florida at TOC in Feb 18 Patrick! Congrats to all the teams, we enjoyed playing all of you! Now for the negative stuff which is very fixable and very minor first of all the bases need to be secured they cost one of my guys a torn hamstring and they are dangerous to try to run on because they come off very easy! Second major and major plus division teams should not be playing at BLD the fences are too short and especially using the rock ball every time you hit a homerun it was nearly nonretrievable my team spent 80 extra dollars on balls not including the six we were initially given! The umpiring crew did the best job that they could yes they missed calls yes sometimes their judgment is not correct but… They are human and they make mistakes and we need to be able to realize that they have a very difficult job and they cannot make both sides happy when they make a call! I thought they all did a fantastic job! So all in all the weekend was pretty fantastic except on Saturday when I was driving back to my hotel where my wife was waiting I got T-boned by a taxi cab so I'm still in Vegas getting my jeep damage assessed and a rental car to drive back to Phoenix since it is unsafe to drive LOL!!!

Yes - tourney was well run, no complaints there... However, it is a little funny that the one big complaint I heard all weekend was how "easy" it was to hit HR's! After all the complaining we all do about the ball we use everywhere else, this past weekend was complaining more about the ball being too good and too many HR's. I know BLD is HR friendly anyway, but the balls were flying out on all the fields being used...

As far as the HRs go....the wind was a factor in how many balls went out of the park. It would not have mattered if we had used the Stote simply because the temps were relatively mild and usually only one field had the wind blowing in.

Odie thank you, you have a great team and some guys who just don`t give up and i must say it seems the whole 50 Majors is like that and look at the scores alot of tight games and that is what it`s all about to me.There was a white car getting home run balls and driving away with them. The staff and umps did a great job and can not wait to see them in Reno...
