Seniors to the Rescue
I just wanted to mention a situation that occurred at Hollywood Park during the 2:30 55AAA games that had nothing to do with softball. It does highlight the character of seniors and how they can come together when needed. There were a couple of parents having a fundraiser for their girls softball team. During the 2:30 games their money box was stolen by 2 teens. Seniors from the Southwest Outlaws pursued and apprehended one of the teens and turned him over to the police. The teen with the money box was able to get away. Even though he was pursued by Outlaws and an Oxnard Rookie into a housing complex. After the games, a player from Top Gun gave the ladies over $100 out of his wallet to make up for some $400 lost. This same player stopped every team that was leaving and asked players to donate something to help these ladies make up the stolen money. The players were more than happy to help and the women having the fundraiser were giving hugs with every donation. They were also overwhelmed with tears at the generous nature of the players. It appeared that the women were able to make their money back and then some. Thanks to the kindness shown by senior players and families. I'm sure you will be in their prayers for turning around a bad situation.
