BRICKYARD INVITATIONAL QUALIFIER 2017 • DRAFT Game Schedules and Brackets
DRAFT Game Schedules and Brackets for SESSION #1 the 2017 Brickyard Invitational Qualifier in Indianapolis have been posted and are available from the links below and on the event's Tournament page ... As always, these DRAFT schedules are TENTATIVE, are subject to change and become final ONLY when released as "OFFICIAL" at the Manager's meeting before play commences ...

NOTE: Managers who do NOT attend the Manager meeting will be presumed to be fully informed on ALL matters (such as schedule changes, tourney formats and rules issues) discussed at the meeting. Tournament rosters are “frozen” as of the Manager’s Meeting. NO on-site player additions are allowed, as all roster changes were previously approved through the Sacramento home office ... Managers who do not attend the Manager Meeting, and do not send a representative, will be prohibited from beginning tournament play before check-in with Field Director.

The Participating Teams List Tab and the Master Games & Fields Grid have also been posted ... Good luck to all!

DRAFT Game Schedules and Brackets for SESSION #2 the 2017 Brickyard Invitational Qualifier in Indianapolis have been posted and are available from the links below and on the event's Tournament page ... The caveats mentioned above for SESSION #1 apply here as well ... Good luck everyone! ...

Format Change Note

• Last week, we contacted all Session #2 teams in an effort to enlist volunteers to play on Friday afternoon or evening to relieve the games demand pressure on both Saturday and Sunday, which would have had games as late as Midnight and 5:00 PM, respectively ... We were unsuccessful in getting enough teams to make an impact ... Accordingly, the format of the tournament was changed to ensure we did not have to turn away the last 10 or so of the teams to register ... THE TOURNAMENT IS NOW A THREE-GAME-GUARANTEE format, with ONE seeding/warm-up game prior to the commencement of double elimination brackets ... Approximately six to ten teams will play only three games, and THOSE AFFECTED TEAMS (only) will receive a $100 refund by mail OR a credit to a future SSUSA event, at the sole option of the team ...

WEEKEND REVISION • Due to the late withdrawal of a 50-Major+ team (The OG's/AMR), there have been minor modifications to the weekend schedule ... One Saturday 7:30 AM game was dropped (LS/MB now starts at 9:00 AM rather than 7:3-0 AM) and one 9:00 PM bracket game was dropped ... The bracket format for the 50-Major+ and 55-Major+ was also changed ... The three remaining teams in the Major+ category will now play a three-team Double Elimination bracket instead of two Best 2 of 3 Championship Series, respectively ... There will be a three-coin flip by the teams, and the "odd" coin flipper will be awarded the #1 seed in the bracket .. Changes are online now, and good luck everybody! ...

EMAIL STATUS UPDATE ON BRICKYARD INVITATIONAL • Sent to all participating teams from the SSUSA Home Office by Terry Hennessy ...
__________

To all players and managers of teams competing in the Brickyard Invitational in Indianapolis this weekend:

We are happy to inform you that the tournament is still very much on.

The field crews are working today and tonight to get the infields and warning tracks in playable condition and they are buying pumps to drain the low spots in the outfield. They are confident the fields will be in playable condition for tomorrow’s games.

Therefore, please be aware that our policy on refunds is that there is NO REFUND for any team pulling out of this tournament. The schedules have already been drawn. If teams pull out, we will be using those funds to reschedule the games for the remaining teams.

If your team has called to withdraw from this tournament, your manager has until 3:30 pm Indianapolis time (12:30 pm Pacific time) to notify our office that the team will be playing. Any team that has pulled out and does not notify our office that they will be playing by 3:30 Eastern time will be removed from the schedule and forfeit their entry fee.

WEEKEND REVISIONS COMPLETE • Schedule revisions required by the premature withdrawal of eight teams have been completed and are available online from both this Message Board thread and the event tournament page of this website ... From the No Good Deed Goes Unpunished file • Another team (Central Illinois Chiefs) left an email in an unattended email inbox rather than calling the office to advise that they, too, had withdrawn from the tournament ... Revisions to the 55-Major Division were required and have been made and posted online ... Good luck everyone! ...

SATURDAY UPDATE • Tournament play began as re-scheduled at 9:00 AM this morning and is on time under excellent softball field and weather conditions ... Kudos to the field crew professionals at Midwest for an amazing job of getting ready ... Two more teams were unannounced no-shows this morning ... The multiple changes and restructuring required by these latest defections are being handled marvelously by the on site Directors, and too fast to be efficiently updated here ... Check with them for the latest game and bracket sequencing ... Well done to all players and tournament administration folks involved in Indianapolis! ...
