| May 8, 2017 lb16 Men's 60 196 posts | Vegas Info Help Our team is planning on going to play in Vegas this year for the 1st time. Need info/help on the hotel rooms. We are going to book hotel/airline package where is the best place to stay decent/affordable with access to all parks. Online booking shows hotels on strip, east of strip, west of strip, downtown, north vegas, east vegas, henderson, boulder etc. Any info/help would be appreciated! Thanks!! |
| May 8, 2017 titanhd Men's 60 638 posts | It really depends on which fields you are playing. , but a good reference point is to use the Tournament Event Page. Open the Blog for the Vegas Tourney. There are a list of Hotels on the page. Again it depends on which fields you are assigned.(which won't happen for a while) But I found a good starting point. |
| May 8, 2017 lb16 Men's 60 196 posts | I saw the hotel page on tourney page booking online with a flight/hotel package some are listed some are not having no idea what fields we will be at, we are playing 50 major. Just trying to get an idea on the best location to try and stay for most fields we will be playing on which I have no idea which that will be. |
| May 8, 2017 DaveDowell Men's 70 4313 posts | lb16 ... That's good advice from titanhd ... Depending on what your housing budget may be, you'll find the Strip to be more expensive than elsewhere ... In my own opinion, the best "value for location/access" are any of the hotels along the Boulder Highway ... They are convenient, in varying degrees, to more facilities than any other area ... These include Boulder Station (the Tourney Headquarters Hotel where the majority of staff stays), Arizona Charlie's, Eastside Cannery and Sam's Town ... Good luck and "Welcome to Las Vegas" ... |
| May 8, 2017 DieselDan Men's 75 601 posts | Goood info from Dave. A teammate a few years ago suggested AZ Charlies and I've used them ever since. They did have some issues at one time, but only credit cards are accepted now, and they have round the clock security inside and out on bikes. The two room suites are great, under $40/night, and like Dave said, most fields are within reason. If you are travelling with a lady, they may like another hotel with more pizazz. |

Many times I've left Boulder Station and detoured through there to grab breakfast on the way to the fields! ... Just so long as the guy who does the game schedules doesn't give you a "pre-dawn" first game of the day ... [That guy would be me!] ... |

AZ Charlie's has ALWAYS been one of the smokiest casinos in LV... this was true of both the Decatur and the Boulder Hwy locations. I'm hopeful that this has changed. If it hasn't, it's essentially our health v their profits... WE QUIT STAYING THERE 10 YEARS AGO. This should not be a serious discussion if this is the way it now stands. We 'own a very large piece of the serious illness pie'... we = senior teams Given our ages, etc. Respect it or lose it... (OUR HEALTH). BW |
| May 8, 2017 cyborg45 Men's 75 194 posts | Haven't stayed at Charlie's or Boulder Station. Stayed at Eastside Cannery and Sam's Town several times each. Both are very good. Rather prefer Sam's because of the large open "canyon area with the waterfall". The light and fountain shows at that same location are an added plus. |

| May 8, 2017 Dbax Men's 65 2101 posts | Uh, I would suggest you opt for Boulder Station, Eastside Cannery or Sam's Town over Az. Charlie's. Check Trip Adviser reviews. If you are with teammates looking for a cheap place, maybe it might work for you. I guess the food is ok. |
| May 9, 2017 Benji4 Men's 55 289 posts | Call the Orleans hotel and ask for the person in charge of group rates. Tell her you are a softball team and most times they will give you a great group rate. Orleans rooms are over-sized and it's off the strip but freeway close. |
