Heart of Texas & State Tournament El Paso
Anybody Not thoroughly disgusted with SSUSA schedule at Heart of Texas Tournament? Is there anybody with half a brain that thinks we should hold Texas state tournaments in El Paso? Why are there no tournaments near a population center,i.e., Houston, Dallas, San Antonio? Boycott anyone?

CRASH • In the order of your first three questions ...
[1] The Heart of Texas schedule was authored by the independent Tournament Director, and NOT by the SSUSA scheduling division as would be the case with a TOC Qualifier or other major National event;
[2] El Paso was the only Texas metropolitan area that expressed a desire to host the Texas State Championships for 2017; and
[3] See answer to question [2] above ...

State Tournament El Paso Again???

Is Keith Parker still the Texas State Tournament Director? How may we have him replaced?
Qualifications: Use half a brain to locate tournaments, i.e., Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, or wherever players reside, obviously not El Paso.

Keith is still the director.No place in Houston to have it.Unless Baytown. They will not give up league play.You have to be off fields by 5 o’clock. . Not sure about Dallas.Austin does not care. They give no break on rooms..City of Austin they get all they need in visitors money..I would not go to El Paso.

CRASH • Not-so-instant replay for you ... Here are this year's answers .....

[1] Yes;
[2] Yes he is, but he had nothing to do with your Texas State Championships inquiry;
[3] You can't; and
[4] El Paso was the only Texas metropolitan area that expressed a desire to host the Texas State Championships for 2018 ...

See you here again next year?

CRASH, I think most seniors here in Texas are disappointed again that the biggest SSUSA tournament of the year will be held in El Paso this year. I'm sure our good brothers in El Paso will put on an excellent tournament but the truth is most of the teams in Texas just won't go. (It's an 8 hour drive from San Antonio, even farther from the Houston, Dallas and Austin areas.) Like you, I believe most would like to see the tournament more centrally located. But CRASH, what else is SSUSA and the Independent Tournament Director to do if no other city in the state steps up and puts together a viable package to host the Heart of Texas tournament except for El Paso...??? What else are they to do but allow El Paso to host it?

My team isn't looking forward to the act of driving 7 hours Syracuse, or 13 hours to the Eastern nationals this year, but we will. Why? Because my favorite memories from softball are the silly things that occur on the road, the roadside stops and the people that you meet along the route.

Wherever you play, have fun and make the most of it!.

Don't feel too bad.
We travel a min of 5 hours to EVERY tournament will play in.
Most are between 6-7 hrs.
We do what we have to do to play this great game.
