Bat for an ASA 52/275 ball.
I'm thinking about playing in a local USSSA league which uses an ASA 52/275 ball. Are there any non senior bats which give you more distance than the rest? Does the weight of the bat have the same effect on this ball as it would on a 44/375? Thanks

Hombre,
Look at the thread below regarding the Freak Platinum. There is no better bat than that for the 52/300 ball...

You are very welcome. Miken has been feverishly working to keep up with the demand for these as they have quickly taken over the ASA market. I finally got a few more of them in today in my shipment. If you need anymore help get in touch.

If it is a USSSA league you most likely can't swing an ASA only bat. You will need to swing with a USSSA stamp. The USSSA leagues I have seen using the mush ball use it to limit hitting distances and for "safety". In most cases these balls do not hit great with USSSA stamped bats.

I agree with neck10. Monsta has two models but you need to be prepared to pay!

Two new Limited Edition ASA bats just came out this week commemorating the ASA Border Battle played each year between USA and Canada. These are numbered bats bats as they only make 1500 of each. Mikens is known as the Border Battle and Worth's is the Legit XL USA. BOTH SPORT red white and blue paint jobs and both are equipped with the latest technology in ASA bats. Contact me at 561-718-7504 if you need more information.

I am checking back to see if anyone recommended a good u-trip bat to hit the .52 core ball. I see nobody has. Good luck Hombre! I suggest using the stiffest barrel u-trip bat you have. Works much better than with a broken in one.

Thanks marcster. That does sound like the most practical way to go. I don't think that these 20 and 30 year olds will be impressed with my long ball no matter what bat I use. LOL hombre

I've purchased several bats from Alan over the years and have never been misled or disappointed with his recommendations. I purchased the Miken Freak Platinum from him and couldn't be happier. Everything he said about the bat was spot on and then some. I have been swinging Miken bats for over 20 years, in senior tournaments and local leagues here in Florida. The ASA Freak platinum is nothing short of incredible. Hot out of the wrapper and just keeps getting better.

Don't forget he is playing in a USSSA league so he is not looking for an ASA bat. He needs a USSSA stamp bat. He is asking if any USSSA stamp bats hit the 52's well.

That being the case obviously if he has the option to use his senior bat that would be the first choice. If he needs a USSSA bat I'd suggest any of the new Miken offerings as they all hit the 52/275 ball really well and the weighting options should make it easy to find a bat hombre is comfortable with...

If you go to any Major ASA tournament, you will see the LC(low compression) Monsta Bats everywhere. All other bats companies for this 52/300(or 275) are trying to copy. Why do you think Chris Greinhart, Ryan Dacko(who are both on Long Haul Bombers Tour), etc use them! The DNA, Bombadier, and now the Torch are the standard. They absolutely kill that ball.

That being said...."hombre" mentioned finding a bat for a USSSA association using 52/275 balls. Other bats companies(other than Monsta) have dual stamps, meaning they can be used in both USSSA and ASA.

Good Luck
