| Aug. 7, 2017 STL0 Men's 60 230 posts | If you go under Tournaments/Rules and select Team Rating Index, you'll see a chart that shows how player ratings and team ratings compare from one age group to another. It seems like the only way that there could be an issue if your talking about SSUSA is that you are a 50 Major+ player and were playing 40AAA. I believe you could still play 40AAA as long as the team didn't have more than 3 players rated at one level higher than 40AAA on it. It would be best to confirm all of the details with the SSUSA office since that all gets pretty complicated. I'm not sure how the fact that they approved your roster before the tournament plays into that. |
| Aug. 7, 2017 DaveDowell Men's 70 4312 posts | I'm not sure "they" is SSUSA at all. We had all 40's playing "clean" in the Eastern Nationals and there were no 40's in the 10,000 Lakes Classic in Minnesota. |
| Aug. 7, 2017 West Coast Mayhem #00 Men's 50 21 posts | I believe he is talking about USSSA States this past weekend in Temecula. A player was caught playing both 40's & 50's. These divisions were not playing each other and no where in the rules does it state you cannot play both. It does say you cannot play on two teams in the same division. When the State Director saw that a player was playing both, he stopped the game and forfeited the game. He did not penalize the player, but the whole team. It was asked many times to show us in the rule book where it says you cannot play two separate divisions, but he could not. He made up his own rules during a sanctioned tournament. Now I am not sure, but if he has the power to make up rules as the game progresses, then I guess he made the right call. |
