Aug. 8, 2017 DaveDowell Men's 70 4312 posts | G MAN ... Which event(s) are you YELLING about??? ... (ALL CAPS is considered yelling and is neither polite nor necessary)... I have posted the Game Scores and Bracket Results for all 2017 T.O.C. Qualifying tournaments administered by the SSUSA Home Office up to the Western Nationals ... They are available from the links on the individual tournament pages of this website ... Have you checked there? ... The Western and Eastern Nationals and the ISA Senior Worlds are still pending ... I worked thru the end of the Western's on July 30, took a day in the office and went to Raleigh/Cary, NC, for the Eastern's on August 1, returning to Sacramento last night ... Those will be forthcoming shortly ... |

Aug. 9, 2017 grayhitter59 Men's 60 345 posts | Dave, I know you have a hard job keeping up with all the tournaments and all the ranting and yelling on this web site. With all that said, if you did it correctly every night after the sessions, someone could go into the bracket and post names of teams and scores and who advanced through the brackets. Does not seem to be so difficult to US. If you like go to the ISSA web page and see how they do it. Everyday anyone could see results as the tournament progresses. Just asking (would love to see it happen here). the brackets are already posted on the web site, just allow someone to fill information. my opinion, hope you understand. Thank you for reading and listening. MQ |
Aug. 9, 2017 Cookie92 35 posts | Dave, The EASTERN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS scores for the brackets and the playoffs are still not posted.... which is some three days after the event was completed. ISSA posts the scores from the bracket and the playoffs in almost "real time" so that people who are interested can follow the tournament on the web... It's not that hard and the longer that SSUSA goes without using technology like ISSA does, the more minor league it looks... |
Aug. 9, 2017 SS11 60 posts | USSSA does it at the conclusion of each game. Do it online and the bracket is updated immediately. I'm just saying that it isn't that hard and can be done live at the field by the director. |
Aug. 9, 2017 titanhd Men's 60 638 posts | Not understanding the cry outs for "scores"and who beat who. Do understand a want to see results or who won a Tourney and perhaps finished 1-2-3 but, SCORES!!? What difference does it make if a team wins by 1 or 101? What knowledge is gained be scores? |
Aug. 9, 2017 Jon44 Men's 55 149 posts | I would love it if there was a way to get scores posted during the tournament. I am not able to attend every tourney, but would love to check scores at the end of the day or next day to follow the action to see which of my friends teams are doing well. It seems in this day and age this would not be overly difficult to do. Things seem to be quite antiquated the way they are done now on the site. I know this is an extreme example because a lot was going on, but it took almost a month from when the 50's played to get scores posted for the SoCal Championships, which was a TOC qualifier tournament. Surely we can do better than that. I know the folks in Sacramento have a lot on their plate. I enjoy the tournaments and for the most part ALL things are run extremely well, in my opinion. It would be great if someone looked into some way to post scores as fast as possible. This isn't a super big deal, but would really be a "nice to have" thing. |
Aug. 10, 2017 grayhitter59 Men's 60 345 posts | Titanhd, i guess when you read the newspaper and look up your favorite team you don't look at the score. So it does not matter if your team won by 20 or lost by 20. Just asking! I myself like to see how my Red Sox did, scores and wins and losses. So, yeah if someone could just go to the bracket which is already posted on the tournament page and fill in who and what happened that would make me happy. I think SSUSA needs a new IT guy that can give them access to that page so a tournament director can fill in the lines. Not that hard to do with todays technology. All you need is a smart phone. So staff lets move into this century and make this happen. :) |
Aug. 10, 2017 Yankee fan 18 posts | My question is why can't scores for all Qualifier tournaments be posted -- not just the TOC qualifiers. It doesn't seem like it should be that difficult of a task. |
Aug. 11, 2017 yerwombat Men's 60 76 posts | Wow it sure is nice to be able to follow your team when you can't make the tournament |
Aug. 11, 2017 Omar Khayyam 1357 posts | It's not just following your own team in a tournament you can't make, but following friends. In our league, there are guys on 9 different tournament teams, including my own. I'm often interested in how those teams are doing against competition. For some of those teams, seeing scores against teams we play against give me an idea of what the competition is like. So yes, I would love to see scores as close to real time as possible. |
Aug. 14, 2017 jimperry19 68 posts | Why aren't the Eastern National Championship scores from this TOC qualifying event posted yet? This event finished 2 weeks ago. |
Aug. 15, 2017 bond_171513 Men's 55 79 posts | How about the Western National Championships that were before the Eastern? What does everyone think about the new way of posting scores - illegible scans of handwritten brackets? |
Aug. 15, 2017 k man Men's 65 326 posts | We were in Richmond this past weekend. Had the 1st 2 seeding games on Friday. It was nice to be able to go back to the hotel and sit by the pool, go to dinner etc knowing that anytime we wanted to , could go on website and get up to date scores and also see when we would be playing the next day. SSUSA, time to get with the program. You are light years behind on this one. |
Aug. 17, 2017 #19 Men's 70 302 posts | jimperry19 ... OMG ... The scores are posted already!!! ... LOL |
Aug. 18, 2017 jimperry19 68 posts | #19, I saw that, and it only took 2 and 3 weeks for the 2 National Championship tournaments to get scores and results. I was looking at the ISSA website on Monday and they had scores from games that were played the previous day. And they weren't a phone picture of a handwritten bracket. I love SSUSA and have full respect for the folks that run it, but the fact that we the players beg, literally beg, for a better way to see results and it seems like it falls on deaf ears. It does not help that everytime someone asks about this subject some random player posts 'why do you need to know the scores?' Answer, We need to know the scores because we want to know the scores. Fact, scores and results should be updated in almost real time. That cannot be debated. Every other association does it, we don't. If you are not frustrated by this, then wait until Worlds and you play your two games, have to drive to a chosen complex and wait to find out your seed and next game time as paper results are poured over and a bracket is put together. This should be automated and everyone knows it. On the flip side, there is no place I would rather be then on the field, or in the dugout, or taking BP with my teammates and squeezing out every last second of joy I get from playing this game. I appreciate that SSUSA has given me this extension of my career, and I will always be grateful for that. However, it is time to get with the times. |
