Aug. 21, 2017 HAT MAN Men's 50 228 posts | message board standard for all I truly think whoever is in charge of this message board should have a standard for posts responses etc. Often there are repetitive posts that should be deleted by an admin. Comments made attacking someones character and sarcastic remarks by employees. Some examples What ball we use has been discussed 500x why arent bracket results posted yet some SSUSA staff responses Why do anonymous posters that post something factual have no merit? Fear of repercussion is a real thing. Sarcastic responses to posts and refusal to respond to other posts. I think if this board is run by employees then they need to decide if employees use it as an avenue to address all concerns with responses or not. Personally I love reading some of ssusa staff responses as a player but also see employee being sarcastic to people that are frustrated and they then get mad. Ex recent post on 3 team late championship event. I would have never guessed if you call you can get earlier games to address travel. Thats awesome to know. Dont get me wrong I am as sarcastic as they come, just saying there needs to be a standard for all of us players and staff. Often we read if you have a concern call us directly but some concerns get answered. We cant know which concerns staff will respond to on this board. If this board has specific do's and dont's SSUSA staff follow and want players to follow, just let us all know. I think it will make for better communication for all. I would like to see a moderator make a standard so we can all follow it. I believe it will help with people that are frustrated etc. Many softball boards have a search section. A common question section area and rules ex before posting use search feature, personal attacks will be deleted by moderator etc. Thanks for listening. If nothing changes, no worries just a suggestion to evolve this page. Vinny |
Aug. 22, 2017 Benji4 Men's 55 289 posts | I will help you out Vinny my brother. Personally I'm not a fan of anonymous posts, but I realize some people are thin skinned and afraid. It is what it is. I think this board serves a few purposes. It's obviously a way for people to bitch and complain. Some putting their name to it and some not. Also a way for some to just Vent. And it's just a way to thank someone, or recognize someone or some team, or educate some people. It's also sometimes informative. Some posts are just flat out stupid. Some are sarcastic. I think sarcastic posts from SSUSA personnel do serve a purpose. It's way for them to stick up for themselves. I also think that if you truly have an issue or question, calling the main office and identifying yourself is the most efficient way of getting a response or answer to a question. But most of all I think this board like any other message board is just simply a way for people to talk crap to each other all in fun of course. Hell some of the CORE players at a retirement party in Las Vegas this past weekend were dogging me about my posts. Calling me the voice of Major Plus.....But I'm not thin skinned and nothing anybody ever says or posts about me is going to affect me very much. I'm just not easily offended, nor do I ever think my opinions are WRONG.......... So with that said, I think the Board is what is and will probably never change. Probably why nobody responded to your original post. be safe.......... Benji...... |
Aug. 22, 2017 FOFO Men's 60 283 posts | Benj, AKA The Voice of MP. You can use my name. I'm always straight up in person or on the board. Pleasure meeting you and getting a chance to talk to you in person. Had a lot of fun. Good Luck the rest of the season and hope to see you next time you're in town. Bert 44 The Core |
Aug. 23, 2017 FOFO Men's 60 283 posts | My view on the topic on this thread is if you can't put your name to a post you probably shouldn't post it. Lacks credibility to post something anonymously. If you have a statement to make and feel strongly about it put your name on it. Bert |

Aug. 24, 2017 grayhitter59 Men's 60 343 posts | I think having this message board is a great tool. But with that said I think using a screen name and not having to at least have you real name attached to your statements allows for people to hide and not face up to there statements. my thought. |

Aug. 26, 2017 TOMAR77 Men's 65 331 posts | Seems we have some Government Workers here ? Always looking to Regulate, Putting Restrictions on Freedom of Expression, Rules to be Enforced, Penalties to be Assessed, Sanctions to be Imposed, The Thought Police defining what is Appropriate and what Ain't. I SAY, "LEAVE ME THE HELL ALONE"! I care not whether a person wants to ID themselves. I read what they write and then assess the value of their input, simple as that. Although if a name is given I might consider their worthiness, such as Steve Imlay on Hitting as opposed to, Steve "Can't Hit Worth a Damn", give me a call and I will make you a Great Hitter and you don't even need to Practice ! I am certain that my use of Capital Letters will be in Excess of the legal Limit ! Also Might have used Too Many !!! MARKS ? Please advise Penalties for My Infractions and I Will have My Lawyer Contact You. That way My Lawyer can empty My Pockets Before You Get Your Bloated Regulated Hands on Them ! Respectfully Submitted Tomar |

Aug. 28, 2017 TOMAR77 Men's 65 331 posts | It is people like me who protect your right to make public sarcastic statements. I, as well as our Founding Fathers encourage and support your right to do so. No harm, I thought it was rather clever. Tomar |
