Confused. How can a team that played in the championship game do so with the 3-4 batters from another good team not in tourney, then give those players back after the tournament? What is the rule that covers this situation?

curveball ... You've got us confused, too ... We had 14 Championship Games and the crystal ball isn't clear enough for us to figure out which game and which anonymous team(s) are the suspects! ... If you're seeking some sort of official censure or other remedy, send an identifiable email to us at info@seniorsoftball.com with the facts ... Don't count on a public Message-Board-Trial here ... Thanks!

Dave, just make it a general question. Is it possible for a team pick up 2 or more players from the same age and same level for a TOC Qualifier tourney, then give them back to their original team? Won't need a crystal ball, just knowledge of the rules. I'm sure the rule covering this must be there, but I'm unable to find it. Just asking for help in locating such rule. I would like to be able to do same with my next years team.

As a "general theory" question, there are several variables that would need to be addressed directly with the Home Office in Sacramento ...

1. What is the rating level of the team? ... Major+ has different rules for eligibility ...
2. How many players did the team have from their original/master roster available for this event before they asked for "exemption" players? ... Teams 65+ and younger may add such otherwise eligible "exemption" players to get to 10 ... Teams 70+ and more senior may get to 11 by this procedure ...
3. Of the "exemption" players, what are their individual ratings history numbers over the current and two previous Seasons? ... Have the player(s) been in this circumstance before in this Season? ... We don't allow players more than one "guest" appearance per Season ...
4. Were the "exemption" player additions approved by Sacramento before the event?

There isn't a general rule for global application ... Individual facts and circumstances, with real names of teams and players, will dictate any such roster additions being approved or denied ...

Thank you Dave, that helps. Wasn't totally aware of the "exemption" players as an option.
So often, we stay home because of injuries or prior player commitments, nice to know we have another avenue to exercise when we have the majority of players ready to go, but too short of bodies to make it happen.
