New Format for 50's and 55's
Was talking to Ridge Hooks of the SPA this weekend in Montgoemery , he is looking into having the 50 and 55 start playing a 4 game format and start play on SATURDAY morning. He said the Manager meeting at 800 am and first game at 900.
It would help all the teams in there travel plans and I believe have more players come out and join some of our team.At the 50 and 55's most of us still have to work and this new format if it is tryed would help our team.
what do you think ?

That would be GREAT! It would mean us working guys would have to miss fewer days from work and for teams w/o a sponsor reduced hotel cost. The guys on my team would gladly play more games in a day (earlier and or later) if it resulted in a reduction in the number vacation days we have to take from work.

Sounds good to me also. We were in Palm Springs this past weekend and had to travel on Thursday to play a game on Friday morning at 8am.
We only played 2 games a day. Doesnt make any sense to me. We dont mind playing more games in a day. Thats why were there.

Don, Is Ridge talking about a round robin? If not, what format?
As for me, I like playing on Friday. I have plenty of vacation so that isn't a problem with me.

We, and another team played 2 on Friday and only 1 on Saturday. Would rather have played 3 on Saturday.

Great idea. We wasted our Saturday by only playing one game in the middle of the day. Played two on Friday and 4 on Sunday. Would have been nice to play a couple of those games on Saturday.

THAT'S GREAT FOR YOU 50-55S, I WISH RIDGE WOULD
LOOK AT THE SAME PROGRAM FOR THE 60S.
THERE ARE STILL A LOT OF GUYS IN THE 60S THAT
STILL HAVE TO WORK FOR A LIVING.

sounds good for the players, but the organizations wouldn't be able to get as much money back from the host cities, 'cause we wouldn't be in their towns, spending our money for that extra day or so!

OOPS! I FORGOT. I'M SORRY, I KEEP THINKING IT'S ABOUT THE PLAYERS AND NOT A MONEY MAKING
BUSINESS. THE MORE TIME I HAVE TO TAKE OFF
WORK, THE LESS MONEY I HAVE TO ATTEND
ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENTS. MORE TOURNAMENTS
OR LONGER TOURNAMENTS,
