Schedule for 40's World
Why is it taken so long to get this schedule posted. Seems like all the other divisions have been release for weeks. Just saying...

on average the world schedules get released 7 to 10 business days in advance. Session 1 usually earlier because its the first one. So if history is any indication Session 4 brackets will be posted sometime between Wednesday and Friday of this week. My guess is Friday due to all the other tasks needing higher attention like on going sessions.

So that two weeks and 7 to 10 days isn't accurate either. Still no schedule. I'm sure there are other 40 teams would love to have seen there schedule well in advance like all there other division.

I know you don't want to hear that but as Hat Man alluded to, you guys are last and sadly that does tend to push things back. You have a total of 83 teams in 40's, there were 85 teams in 50 AAA alone, that was the biggest bracket ever so that took a while. My guess is that you will at least have your play in games today/tonight (Dave is working a field I am sure as 50's started today), that would be a week before you start.

Good luck!

Just sucks cause You try and find a hotel close to your field then all of a sudden you get moved to the opposite end of town... Has happened to us 4 out of the last 4 years.

Be happy to be at Arroyo... Women's 40s was supposed to be there and we get stuck at one of the worst complexes in Vegas not to mention crappy neighborhoods to drive thru to get there. Booked hotels based on the website saying we'd be at Arroyo and Russell Rd and now we're clear across town on to of it. UFB

Arroyo is a nice park. Like I said pretty normal to be changed from the original schedule. My team is scheduled to play at the same time twice so there might be some changes

Bubbles and chic ... I'll do this once and hopefully everyone else is paying attention ... TENTATIVE (which means subject to CHANGE and NOT final) field assignments are issued to satisfy the thirst for advance knowledge, regardless of its importance at the time, well before significant data to support those guesstimated field assignments exists ...

They are based on prior history of team attendance and are simply guesses until all of the entry deadlines pass ... The 2017 World Masters far exceeded our expectations for attendance, crushing the prior record (564) with 612 teams ... Our projections were based on a modest 3% increase over last year, to about 575 teams ... The growth rate was in fact almost three times that (8½ percent) .. So, as for what exactly necessitated changes to the TENTATIVE field assignments this year ...

• Men's 40-Major grew unexpectedly to 44 teams ... The general rule of thumb is that a facility, with Local League restrictions present, can handle six teams per field, without having to resort to Midnight Madness type Saturday scheduling ... Big League Dreams could not handle the 40-Majors, and the only place that could was the combination of Desert Breeze and Sunset Park ...
• Men's 40=Major Plus was then slotted into Arroyo Grande because, with 21 teams, they almost fit there on Friday .. Henderson allows us no more than 20 games slots on Friday, so I had to split some of their seeding games over to Sunset with half of the 40-Majors ... 40-Major Plus is unsuited to both Shadow Rock/Hollywood and Big League Dreams because of severe restrictions on their ability to retrieve home run balls ...
• The Women's 40-AAA, 40-AAA and Senior Women 50+ were then relocated to the 7-field combination at Shadow Rock and Hollywood because they fit comfortably to avoid late nights on Friday and Saturday, and that allowed us to bring all Women's divisions into Big League Dreams for the Sunday Finals ...
• The last two divisions, the Men's 40-AAA (18) and Women's 40-Major (9) were (luckily) the only logical fit at BLD at 27 teams, because we lose two time slots from the theoretical maximum on Friday at BLD of 30 due to Opening Ceremonies and the honoring of the Guam Teams with the SSUSA Sportsmanship Award ceremony ...

It fits, but barely ... The global schedule this year was 2,001 games ... Good luck everyone! ..

P.S. - LM21: Your "split squad" scheduling issue has been fixed .. Thanks for the heads-up on that! ...

I for one am much happier major was switched. Bld has short fences and costs the team an extra $600 for the tourney. Icing on the cake is it's 5 minutes from my sisters.
I will challenge the home run retrieval excuse though. 10 hrs for major+ x 42= 420 bombs
8 hrs for major x 88= 704 bombs so if that really was a reason major wouldn't ever be teneatively or otherwise scheduled at BLD. BUT THATS JUST ME BEING AN ARSE. love ya Dave. Thank you for All you do

But Vinny, you forgot the importance of the "power-X" variable ... Those AAA and Major guys simply don't hit the ball as far as the Major+ guys ... About everybody on a Plus roster can hit it out, maybe not so much so on lesser rated teams! ... So not all BOMBS are created equal! [grins] ... Play safely, have some fun and good luck! ...
