60/65 Major World results
Is it a possibility/feasibility that SSUSA might be willing to write in the teams that advanced thru the brackets at Worlds for the 60 and/or 65 Major division. I did not get to play this year and my good friends played in both divisions, so I followed it as closely as I could but blindly I might add. I let a couple guys know that I followed the tournament basically through their games and through their description of game results.

It would be much appreciated if SSUSA could/would fill in the brackets and post OR perhaps take a photo and text them to me. Hard on the psyche not to be there playing.
Thanks,
EA

Two years ago I took a picture of the bracket board at BLD on the last day, but then found out I couldn't attach the picture on this board, so I couldn't relay the info.

If SSUSA fixed the message board to allow attaching pictures to a post then we all could take a picture of the tournament board at your field at the end of the day and post it here and everyone could see the scores each day. How hard would that be Dave or STAFF?

SSUSA does not want morons like us posting all kinds of crazy pics etc. But they already have the ability to post pics or docs when they want to. It's been done in the past. It would be so simple to take a pic of the bracket at the end of each day and post it. Why they refuse, baffles everyone.

Sorry Dave. I never intended to start any dissension with my post. I simply wanted to follow some of the divisions that have teams playing of guys I know and have played with or against. It would be great however for those that can't be there for whatever reason.

surf88,

Don't worry when some one gets upset about SSUSA being behind the times and posting scores and results like ISSA does, they will delete your post...

Just some info. No sides or criticism being offered. A firm called Quickscores, LLC, provides nearly hourly score updates. It's, usually. posted before you get to the parking lot. ISSA and some SPA venues use this service. I'm not promoting them or endorsing them, as I know nothing about the service, its cost, or how to employ them. Just some info.

I've had multiple (productive) correspondence exchanges with their C.E.O. ... Right now, technical issues involved with a 2,000 game schedule for 612 teams, including three-game-guarantee brackets as large as 85 teams, are present ... We would also require whatever solution they propose that it be able to interface directly with our national scoring/rating database ... Hopefully progress continues! ... This current LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters event with 10+ venues and around 40 fields is a tad bit different than, say, a 40-team single-site event ...

I believe NJ Hitman, Enviro Vac, AZ Ancients finished in that order for 65 Major. Correct me if I am wrong.

I know that when I have friends playing, and I am really interested in how things are going that we usually text about it or even talk on the phone.

I try to never say anything negative about other associations, but some have far fewer tournaments with far fewer teams. So maybe they have a lot more time. There is a lot to do with 612 teams. If someone were to compare SSUSA with the others, I would say that I have a much stronger preference for their concerns about the players. AED machines are on site, and directors are trained in their use and CPR. I lost a friend during a tournament last year of the organization that someone stated is so good at results posting. There was no AED machine on site, and another Indiana team stopped their game to perform CPR on him until EMT arrived. I would rather have my friend alive and playing than to know who won anything. So concern for saving a life vs knowing who won, I think is an easy choice at least for me.

I respect your opinion if it is different.

At the end of the day, it is all about creating tables in your database and then writing the code to access those tables. For example with a programming codes
it is very easy to populate and modify the various tables, such as using the 2017 schedule to populate information for the 2018 schedule using replaces and inserts….

As far as interfacing directly with your national scoring/rating database that is all about the programming code… Whoever wrote the code for SSUSA national scoring/rating database
would need to work closely with, for example Quickscores, LLC or any other vendor..

With the upcoming “off season” it would seem like there is a window for SSUSA to make progress so as to bring SSUSA into the modern era, that is if they really want to or,
unless there is some other underlying reason not to.

If one person wants to continue to be in control, going modern will never work no manner how fast the database is, after all, there has to be a reason why some tournament directors are posting the scores and results in separate threads on the site…

Harry, you guys had a really good tournament. Winning the National game and finishing 4th overall in 65-AAA is pretty darn good. Congrats to you and the rest of the Force. Is NVF fielding a 70s team? If so, I may see you Ft. Myers. I plan on playing with our 70 AAA team for 2018. Shoulder is coming along. Batting is as good as it was before ( not saying much there ). Throwing is not where I want it but improving. Hope to see you in Ft. Myers.

Paul we are trying to get a 70s team for fort Myers. We are a few players short. We do plan to play 70s in 2018. The NVF will try to field a 60 65 and 70 team in 2018. Thanks Harry
