Russell Road Rec Complex
If any 50s Major teams played at the Russell Road Rec Complex, I would like your comments on this complex.

That park was not a place i would put teams at especially a 50 major Winners bracket game. No Concessions or bathrooms. Teams pay $750 and got stuck there. Definitely not a good choice on SSUSA's part. All about the benjamins.

It's actually all about the teams numbers and getting the winner's bracket done early and out of the schedule sequencing complexities ... The need to maintain vertical integrity in the number of elimination bracket games on Saturday, to avoid Midnight Madness scheduling, was the driving force ... You played a couple games there while some elimination bracket teams were playing a half a dozen in eight time slots ... Sensible scheduling theory prevailed ...

Interesting stuff, michael697 ... If you would like for us to look into this further, OR your "illegal player(s) allegation" from another thread, please send an identifiable email to info@seniorsoftball.com with specific details ... By identifiable, we mean as it relates to you and to the site director, team(s) and player(s) involved, depending on which complaint thread involved ... We don't take formal action based on anything anonymously posted here ... Thanks! ...

SSUSA Staff, for us to provide identifiable information should be something us players shouldn't need to do. We have played this game long enough and know who should and shouldn't belong. This is your job to review all rosters as we pay $750 not to do your job. Sure the excuse will be we have over 600+ teams and can't police it all!! Personally don't want to hear it. If teams are paying that price then someone on your team should be looking at rosters and checking where some of these Major Plus players came from. I enjoy playing the game on a level playing field but when a team is Major in States with a questionable roster then wins the event based on Injury Exception rules then somehow a revision to that rule is posted on the Home Page and said team is moved to Major Plus for the National and is missing some key players and basically tanks it then is out back in Major for the Vegas Championships is considered a mockery and black eye on the program. To satisfy one team when you have teams coming from all over the nation thinking the rules are enforced for all and its not is a shame and a waste of money on their behalf. If players have played Major Plus in the past that ranking should carry until proven otherwise they played their for a reason regardless of age. Put 7 Major Plus players on a team and surround them with other good players and that is one heck of a Major team based on your rule. Always seems to happen when it comes to this event.

SKings ... We always do our job to the best of our abilities ... If you happen to disagree, then you have the right to say so here ... We don't require identification to post on this anonymous-keyboard-courage environment ... People can say anything they wish, and usually do, regardless of factual accuracy as a guiding principle! ...

But if you believe we haven't done our job to your satisfaction, then the procedure for follow-up is very clear ... Submit identifiable specifics of your concerns and we will, without fail, investigate and respond privately, or possibly publicly if the results of our investigation warrant ... Any other approach just churns the rumor mill needlessly ...

SSUSA Staff....you follow up with Russel park...you should know what director was there after all you put him there...my statement is factual why the hell would I make it up.

As for the Team with major plus players. You know who won so do your own home work and stop acting like you don't know.....or are you just one of those directors who walk around with blinders on.

michael697, regarding Russell Park, the site director told several of our wives the same thing about the portable bathrooms and the guy shooting up at the other bathroom.

I understand that Thunderstruck got bumped to Major Plus after winning NorCal Championship as a Major team. They then play in one Major Plus tourney (Western Championship at end of July) and then get bumped back down to Major on August 30 (1 month before Worlds).

My understanding is that ratings and appeals can only be heard twice per year: December and June, however SSUSA reserves the right to make changes at any time. Secondly, a team must play in at least 3 tournies before an assessment can be made to re-rate them to a different classification. I know this from personal experience. A team that I played on 2 years ago was bumped to Major (after winning our 1 and only tourney ever.) After playing in Northeast Champ as a Major team (where we got hammered). We appealed to be moved down and we were told we have to wait, it's too soon for an appeal process, wait till next June.

SSUSA, can you please educate us all on the appeal guidelines as it relates to this specific situation. I think this is a fair question! Is there something that may be missing that we are not aware of?

So I guess that's a "NO", you're not going to follow-up for making a valid complaint ... That's fine, it closes the book on this side too ... As for the Director comment at me, I'm reasonably comfortable with the level of my service for the players and teams ...

[edited to remove last sentence of my prior post ... Yours was deleted for violation of posting Rule #2 - Disparaging comments directed toward any individual]

michael697 ... One last time, respectfully: We DO NOT investigate ANYTHING that is alleged here anonymously ... On the flip side of that same coin, we DO investigate EVERYTHING that is alleged through proper complaint channels .. The choice on whether or not this is a "dead rumor" is totally in your hands ... Thanks ...

Personally, see something say something is something I follow. I would not want my loved one or me trying to use a restroom or area where a crime is/was being committed.

No area is immune to homeless and or crime, not necessarily inclusive. I was exiting the Superior court in Santa Ana, CA two weeks ago, hundreds of homeless tents and a used syringe on the stairway into the courthouse. Lots of police officers did not seem to be a deterrent in that case.

Las Vegas area fields are in constant change. They are updated/upgraded as budgets allow. I have been blessed to play in this organization for 16 years. I have played at almost every park in LV, some were in excellent shape and others terrible. This tournament has grown from 309 teams in 2009 to 612 in 2017. There are always going to be less than ideal situations somewhere.

My point is SSUSA is responsive to the needs of their end users whenever possible. This forum may be used to announce an issue, but will never be the vehicle to resolve same. A call on this forum to contact SSUSA with information relative to the situation is valid and reasonable. Calling out an individual, SSUSA or end user, in a derogatory manner is counter productive to achieving your goal. Safety awareness.

I am not paid by nor work for SSUSA, just a ball player like 99% of the others that view this board with an opinion.
