DUE THEY PLAN ON CUTTING THE ENTRY FEE NEXT YEAR FOR LESS GAME. AFTER ALL LESS THEY HAVE TO PUT OUT FOR UMPIRES MAYBE WE CAN SHARE ON A PRICE CUT IF THEY TO CONTINUE A 5 GAME GUARANTEE.

HOW DO WE START A ONLINE PETITION TO GO BACK TO OUR 6 GAMES MOST TEAMS GO THERE KNOWING THAT NOT MUCH CHANCE TO WIN WE GO TO PLAY BALL HAVE FUN AND MEET NEW PEOPLE

As far as I know SSUSA only guarantees 5 games. I have never heard or played in a SSUSA event that you were guaranteed 6 games. My guess is that you are getting another association mixed up with SSUSA.

Yep. Chico is correct. Five games minimum scheduled, with Round Robin into Double Elimination or Three-Game-Guarantee brackets.

eraldo, You are absolutely correct, but not always the case. Around the year 2000-2001, the first world tournament that I attended was 4 seeding games into a double elimination bracket for ALL ages/divisions. On occasion, it has happened within the past 10 years. The difference now when this is the case, it was only the 65 or older age groups, and that was one of the main reasons to playing the tournament in 4 days. The other main reason for 4 days, is that the older age divisions did not want to play so many games in a day, but rather spread it out a bit, especially when your team got into the loser's bracket early. The other question about a petition, you are on your own.

There is no great reason for 4 seeding games, 5 game format is ample for the $$$. Duke, not sure the older age divisions (at least 65 and 70) had any say so in the "so many games in a day." Maybe that came from the oldest divisions, like the 75's and up. Never heard any growls from the 70's and younger on the 3 days tourneys, but did hear quite a few growls on the 4 day schedule. Too long, too expensive.
From the SSUSA side, if it makes it easier to schedule with fewer games per day, understand.

Duke - I also started playing in 2000 and I don’t ever remember playing at least 6 games or ever playing more then 3 days. I could be wrong, but I don’t think so. I know there is some thought being given to extending certain age groups to 4 days because of the size of the brackets.

chico senior ... The SSUSA World Championships (thru 2011) and the LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters (thru 2014) had a six-game-guarantee format for ages 65+ and more senior groups, played over four days ... That was a four Round Robin games to seed Double Elimination brackets format ... Beginning in 2015, ALL ages went to a five-game-guarantee, generally a two-game Round Robin to seed Three-game-guarantee brackets ... There are occasionally other formats employed to minimize any health risks inherent with large brackets in high heat causing an excessive number of games in the Elimination Brackets ...

Starting with 2018, the LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships will be held under a four-day format for all except the 40-Masters (Men and Women) and the Senior Women 50+ and above ... This change is in response to increasing team participation, as impacted unfavorably by the local league restrictions present in many of the jurisdictions providing facilities for our lease and use ...
