Player Ejection
What is the penalty to a player ejected during a tournament?
Those of you who play in a league, what is your league's ejection rule?

In SSUSA sanctioned tournament play, any further penalty beyond the current game ejection depends on the circumstances of the underlying behavior ... Generally, if the ejection was the for the usual "flash point" outburst or the use of an "F-bomb", there's normally no additional penalty ... Additional time will likely result for a physical altercation like fighting or throwing a ball or bat at someone, verbal and/or physical assault of a game official, tourney director or park personnel, persistent abuse of umpires and/or directors and/or the failure to leave the field of play immediately after the initial ejection, etc. ... The totality of the facts and circumstances should always be a factor in any such decision, and are normally discussed with multiple SSUSA officials ...

even for league play it's usually the same as Dave described above...every ejection is looked at by a Division board and then minimum of 1 game and maximum of league expulsion.. the same act by different individuals can also have different outcomes...ex. if the player has had problems in the past

In leagues I have played in, it is usually a minimum of current game plus the team's next game. More serious circumstances might result in rest of season, multiple seasons, or permanent expulsion.

I assume you mean during a disagreement with a call.. the player would be ejected from the game by the game umpire.. then the UIC and tournament director would follow up with other punishments... which could vary from the rest of tour. to a ban for life

Last year in Palm Springs 40's a play shoved an umpire. The umpire ejected him. It was the second player ejected within a matter of minutes. Game was forfeited. Other team was all packed up except for the guys trying to protect the umpire..... The Turny director gets involved and 15 minutes later reinstated the ejected player who shoved the umpire and made the other team come back, get dressed and play the game. Oh and the best part is the turny director umped the rest of the game. It was the worst thing I have seen at any softball level I have played.
