The target release date is sometime around January 15, 2018 ... The Rating Advisors will be receiving the Rating Committee's preliminary report in the next couple of days ... They will have a short review period for comment, and the ratings should be finalized shortly thereafter ...

I am totally confused. Being a 65 player I will post this only concerning the 65 ratings.
1. Why was the Old As request to be downgraded to major denied? Most of the team had quit before the Vegas worlds. 2 players quitting and running to Timberworks. The manager still put a team in the tourney, picking up 4 or 5 players who had not played all year with the Old As, and were not playing in the tournament just to fill a team. Which was not easy. While the rag tag bunch did win a few games. They were not a major plus caliber team. So the thanks for supporting SSUSA and putting a team in their tournament. You are punished and have to play Major plus even though the teams roster was and would be totally different than than the roster of the 2017 season.
2. Now I hear Timberworks has put together such a monster team. They have to give 5 runs when playing other major plus rated teams in their division. I'm confused.
3. In the 2017 Vegas worlds [ I am going by memory because SSUSA still has not posted the scores from the tournament] in the 65 major division. The top 3 teams were 1 New Jersey Hitmen 2 Enviro Vac 3 Arizona Ancients. The new ratings come out and the Ancients are the only team moved to major plus. The top 2 teams remain major. I sorry but I am CONFUSED.

Looks like Hitmen are going to TOC, their Ratings remain whatever is was when they qualified and will be changed after. Not sure about the rest, sure if you call the office they will tell you.

Bob Farmer, After all of these years, you are confused how things are done? LOL! Just kidding Bob! Honestly, all 3 teams should be Major Plus. But as mck71 stated, when the TOC is about to occur, all the team's ratings are adjusted to the rating of their qualifying event. Why Arizona Ancients is not Major with New Jersey Hitman and Enviro Vac, is a bit off. Hopefully, all 3 will be rated Major Plus after the TOC, as they should. Hope all is going well Bob. Happy New Year! By the way, I have no answer about the Old A's or their roster situation.

mck71, thanks for adding to the discussion. As for the NJ Hitmen, if what you say is true, why did SSUSA post on Jan. 3, 2018 that the NJ Hitmen were Major. There would have been no need to re post the same rating if it was not some discussion in Sacramento. Maybe it was a mistake.
Dbax, always good to hear from you. Hope to see you in league in 2 or 3 weeks. If not sooner
Andy, thanks for the greeting and your thoughts. Thinking of playing 65 with Results out of Vegas. I hear, per BH, you have added some players that just might put you in the same boat as the 3 teams I have mention. Be very careful. Anyway, good luck and hope to run into Used2be this season.
P.S. Andy, I do not think that either the Ancients or Enviro Vac are major plus teams. But, what do I know.

Hey Bob, It really does not matter whether they are Major Plus level or not. Ssusa will bump up the top 2-4 teams in the Worlds, depending on the size of the bracket. In the 2010 Worlds, I was playing with a team that was honestly, a little above average AAA, rated as 60 Major. We could not win a tournament, if our life depended on it. We actually had about 5-6 Major players and the rest were AAA or AA players. We had to play Major. Well, we go to the 2010 Worlds, and win it all. The weakest players were playing like Major players throughout our entire lineup. Everybody was red hot. We were definitely the Cinderella team of that tournament.

After the tourney, the team wanted to compete against the Major Plus teams. I really could not see how, but I humored them, and took the team to a local tournament. We played against 2 AA teams. One team beat us by 12 runs, and the other team run ruled us. After that, I said go find another team to play, and we will reform in 2 years. Not one player disagreed with that decision. In addition, 3 of my AAA players tried to get rerated back to AAA or Major, so they could play on a AAA team. One of the letters that I read, which came back from Terry H, said something like this, "...fluke or not, you are rated Major Plus for the next 2 years." I never argued the decision, because the rules are the rules, at least for most of us.

BTW, all of the 65 Major teams in Southern California this season are loaded. All of them picked up 2-3 Major Plus players from 2 disbanded Major Plus teams. We only picked up 2. We got our butts handed to us in our first tournament and went 1-4. I have a couple of key players that had or will have surgery. Both will not be back until June or July.

I wish you would have stayed with us. We really could have utilized your talents. Hope to see you at some of the tournaments. Take care Bob.

65 Major
