| Jan. 5, 2018 Jimbo1101 Men's 65 5 posts | ASA 44-375 Balls Does anybody have an idea on which is the best ASA 44-375 ball? Our league in Mid-Tennessee is going to these and we've heard there's a major difference in balls both good and bad. Any ideas? |
| Jan. 6, 2018 infoblocked 10 posts | You can't go wrong with the Evil, X-Rock or Tattoo balls. If it doesn't have to be ASA stamped then I'd say a multi-layer ball like the Evil, X-Rock or Thunder Advance. |
| Jan. 6, 2018 OZ40 549 posts | Our daytime 55+ league upper division used Alan Tanners Team 1 44/375 micro-cell balls last year. They were phenomenal and at a good price too! We will be looking at using them this year too so restock Alan, I'll be in touch soon as our winter meeting is next week. Our league is ASA non-senior bat league but U-Trip bats are allowed and the homerun hitters still hit them out and the single/doubles hitters hit 'em good too. I would highly recommend this ball. |

| Jan. 7, 2018 Lefty Men's 75 721 posts | Our senior league in Hendersonville, Tn. uses Alan Tanners Team 1 375/44 core balls. Had know problems with it. I bought 4 dozen for myself an love the ball. Great in the heat. |
| Jan. 7, 2018 OZ40 549 posts | The unusual thing I notice about the micro-cell balls is the sort of 'give' to the covers, which leads me to believe they may be a tad forgiving if you take one off the body. But here in Michigan with our cool-crisp starting months through the hot humid dog days to the first frosts of autumn and beyond I noticed no perceivable difference in performance. The ball was flat out awesome all year round. |
| Jan. 8, 2018 infoblocked 10 posts | I'm guessing the "micro-cell" balls Alan uses are made by Evil since they use that terminology for their 'multi-layer' balls. The multi-layer/micro-cell balls are a harder ball with a soft outer layer that some say cheats the ball tester, and they do stay more consistent in the heat. They're also a little bouncier on firm ground. |
| Jan. 8, 2018 OZ40 549 posts | My thinking is the microcell cover allows for more grip on contact amounting to increased spin on the ball for you guys in the undercut-spin-them-out school of hitting. Evil I believe is made by Trump since both use the word microcell on certain balls. |
| Jan. 9, 2018 Jethro Men's 60 60 posts | The Alan tanner ball is our ball of choice here at the Crossville Tennessee Hitting Club and for BP,with our former team RDG Chattanooga.. we love that ball. However, no where on the ball is an ASA stamp as the OP asked aboutt for league play. When we travel to Knoxville Tan. And play in the Monday. Night senior league there, it also has an ASA stamped ball, mandate as well. We use the tattoo ASA stamped ball and like it. ASA bats are also the mandate there. Bomb hitters get there bombs and the non bomb hitters can get their burn shots on the outfielders. Btw: our. New team the Southern Thunder Also uses the Alan Tanner ball for practices and BP. | Jan. 9, 2018 OZ40 549 posts | Our league consists of an upper and a lower division. The lower division (rec) uses the 52/300 which is provided by the complex. The upper division (competitive) uses Alan's 44/375. The upper division teams get X-amount of dollars off their entry fee to purchase the ball of their choice (Alan's) Both leagues are played under ASA rules with carve out 'house rules' to fine tune the league to our needs for example both leagues allow U-trip bats, this year we will vote on allowing those 70 and over to use senior bats. Bottom line is as a league you have some bargaining power and if it's 'your' league and not a house league you should be able to use the ball of your choice. |

Have to,go,by their rules... therefore, I guess you are right there Oz... it isn't our league. Now my hitting club, yep. Mine, My money my purchasing of the equipment etc, we do use Alan's ball as it is called. Along with the evil BP ball. Been trying to,get my hands on some nx3! |

We are very happy Alan Tanner chose to use our "Microcell" technology when developing the specifications for his ball.
