Playing in different classes
In 2018, can a player be on one team rated AAA and one Team rated majors in the same age bracket...and if not, how can a player play on 2 different tournament SSUSA teams not necessarily in the same bracket i.e. 50s and 55s?

bkb555 ... A player may not play on two differently rated teams in the same age group in the same tournament, or even be on both rosters simultaneously ... He may, however, play on two teams in different age groups if he is otherwise eligible as to residency AND allowable player rating index experience history ... For example, he could play 55-Major and 50-AAA (Rating Index=7 for both), but not 50-Major (R/I=8) and 55-AAA (R/I=6) ... In the event of a mixed bracket with both teams in the same seeding/bracket pool, the player may only play for one of those teams, and must declare prior to the start of either team's first game, which team that will be ...

RELATED CONSIDERATIONS -
• A player, regardless of his native age group, is subject to the player release provisions that govern playing for multiple teams in the same age group, regardless of his true age ... If, say, he is 55+ and plays with a 50+ Team "A", he may not play for a 50+ Team "B" without getting a release from Team "A", and would have to remain with Team "B" for the balance of the current season; and
• If the player plays in multiple age groups (not in a combined bracket) in a tournament, the player bears any adverse effects of schedule conflicts which may have the two teams playing at the same time and/or at different facilities...

SSUSA Staff...please confirm that a player that was on a 50-major plus team last year cannot play on a 50-AAA this year, correct?

Unless covered by the "written permission" exception below, the general answer would be "NO" ... See: Rule Book Section §13.1(1)DIVISIONS OF THE SSWC at subsection A.3. on page 61 ...

A.3. Major-Plus players may not compete on AAA or AA teams without written permission from SSUSA.
