| March 23, 2018 DieselDan Men's 75 600 posts | 70+ Silver Results in the Mesquite/St. G tournament To Director Don, UIC Casey, a big thank you for your assistance in the top of the first in the "IF" game between Git-R-done and Elite 70's. Our lead off hitter Bobby Nap had tweaked his hammy in a previous game, but led off with a base hit and player/manager Al Castaldy ran for Bobby. When Larry G. hit a gapper, as Al was rounding second, he forgot that he told us the wet bag rule was in effect and face planted the infield. AL finally recognized Dave Barnes, but was in bad shape. Doc Casey took over, did some triage, while waiting for the EMT's. A special thank you to the support/concern from both teams and the GTD player who sat down and put his back up against Al to keep him upright. After 30 minutes, Al was up and grumpy as ever, but thankful for the help. Here is part of Dave's recent e-mail to our team. "He suffered 3 facial fractures and stitches to close the open wound in his forehead, that according to the hospital staff after cleaning the wound and closing it with stitches, told him they could see his brain, and Al said "WHAT BRAIN". A very good ending to what initially didn't start well. |
