Could a portion of this website be used to list teams planning to go to tournaments
What are the pros and cons of asking SSUSA to devote part of this site to list teams that would be planning to go to tournaments? SSUSA could list their tournaments and allow teams to indicate if they are planning to play in the tournament. Whoever indicates an intention for their team to partcipate would need to identify themselves as one of that team\'s members. Once the tournament fee is collected by SSUSA they could indicate that the team has paid (fully committed) to the tournament.

It seems one of the problems today especially in Major and Major Plus is the distance teams need to travel to find competition within their age group. Would this idea be helpful or not?

Could this somehow be expanded to cover all associations tournaments? Also allowing other associations to somehow indicate when the tournament fee has been collected.

This is the start of an idea. How can it be perfected in order to work? Feel free to comment. If you don\'t agree no offense will be taken.

I agree with you.
Something needs to be done to eliminate Tournaments that have only 2-3 Teams in a division.
It happened to us too many times last year.
You spend the money to travel to a Tournament and when you get there you are playing against one other team in your classification, teams in a a lower classification, or an older team with 11 guys on the field.
I made some inquiries over the winter and asked some of the associations with help locating managers of the teams that play at our level, 50 Major Plus.
My hope was that maybe all of us could agree to go to the same tournaments thus insuring a bigger turnout.
As yet,I have not been able to get that information.
I would rather play the same 5or 6 teams at every Tournament we attend thanone or two.
So, with all that being said, if there are any 50 Major+ teams out there reading this and think it is a good idea, please post your name and how you can be contacted.
Thanks,
Mike M / Ploog Const.

Everybody complains but I guess few care enough to do something about tournament tournouts. Mike M thanks for your comments.

You might just have to start a thread and keep it going for each tournament. Harder to keep track, but possible.

HEY BOB HOW'S THE TICKER? BOB I AGREE WITH YOU, IT WAS NICE TO PLAY SOMEONE DIFFERENT IN ALABAMA THIS PAST WEEKEND, BUT FOR THE NORTHERN TEAMS IT WAS A WASTE OF $1000 EACH, ALL THE TEAMS WE PLAYED HAD 100 GAMES UNDER THEIR BELTS. THE SNOWS MELTING AND WE'LL SEE YOU IN INDY. IT WILL PROBABLY RAIN!!
YOU GUYS SHOULD GO TO ALABAMA NEXT YEAR, NICE FIELDS, UMPS WERE NICE, WEATHER SUCKED BUT THEY ARE CHANGING THE DATES NEXT YEAR. GOOD MOVE.

Ron,

The tickers just fine now. Just two procedures lasting 11 hous and nine cardioversions to date. I'm anxious to go to Indy, see my teammates and start the new year. The weather is just starting to warm up in the Midwest.

I think if we could get something set up on this site to let teams know where other teams plan on playing, it would help everyone determine where each team's best competition will be. It would probably also mean long term that the better tournaments will thrive and the worse tournaments will dissolve over time. This may be a good thing for softball.
