Mizuno Rejuvenate
I just hit one and liked it, but I don't see it on the approved bats list for SSUSA. Does anyone know if it's approved for senior tournament play?

Maybe a little more context... I don't want to walk up in LV with this bat, hit a ball well, then have someone tell me bat is not approved and I am in trouble or hurt the team by being called out for using a non-approved bat. I am hopeful someone from Senior Softball can verify that I am ok to use this bat in tournament play. DD-- thoughts?

Jon44 ... Mizuno did NOT sanction any bats with SSUSA this year and, accordingly, that bat is not on the approved bats list or available for use in SSUSA sanctioned events ... This is because they either did not provide their required Evidence of Insurance as a bat manufacturer or pay their annual bat sanction fees, or (most likely) both ...

So using it in a tourney is a big no-no. I would be called out or worse, correct?

I will stick to my adidas game bats-- I want to be compliant. I am just curious of the consequences if someone uses that or any other non-approved bat.

Thanks DD- I appreciate the fast response.

Jon44 ... You'd be covered by the "Illegal bat" rules as opposed to the "Altered bat" circumstances ... See Rulebook §3.4(7) ...

Mizuno Rejuvenate is NOT approved ASA/USSSA, etc. It is a senior bat only. It's got the senior stamp and appears to look legal, but is not on the published list of approved bats on this website. Other Senior bats not on the the list include Monsta, boombah, AD Starr, etc. For the most part these bats are either unpopular now or discontinued, like the Mizuno bat. The problem is the Mizuno bat has become interesting to a bunch of people because it actually is an amazing bat that performs better than most senior bats, but apparently Mizuno has given up on it and will not pay the insurance fee etc as Dave described above.

mad dog, ASA and USSSA bats by the above mfgs would be okay since they are 1.20, thus meeting the "1.21 BPF or Lower" standard. I would say that no Mizuno bats are legal, even if they are ASA or USSSA. Most likely they didn't pay SSUSA's fee, pretty sure their insurance is UTD since their bats are allowed in other sanctions.

Just a quick update on this older thread-- looks like SSUSA has approved this bat now for play (5/30 update), so if you got one, swing it without fear of repercussions.
