Why can't the league post field schedules sooner? Reno posted theirs 2-3 months before the fees where even due. Trying to find a hotel close to the field that we are going to play on instead of finding out that the hotel is clear across town from where we are playing and we know have to plan a 45 minute drive time to get through traffic is getting old.
Just would like a good reason for this.

Swing14 ... We don't worry too much about the Las Vegas field assignments ... Our experience has been over many years that the majority of players stay in the same hotel/casino that issued their frequent-player cards, and requests like this most times are driven more by curiosity than specific hotel/field location relationships ... Any of the host hotels on the Boulder Highway are very convenient to all playing facilities except Desert Breeze and Doc Romeo, NEITHER of which we are using this year ... In any event, we were able to complete the last of the facility procurement effort on Friday afternoon to accommodate the tournament record 230 teams, so the Session #2 TENTATIVE field assignments are posted ...

Oh, I posted the Reno data early because that one's REALLY easy ... It's the same Field Assignments EVERY FOUR YEARS ... So if you would like to know where you'll be playing NEXT YEAR (2019), just look up the location your division played in 2015 and, BINGO, you've got it 13 months in advance! ...

I agree that most do stay in the hotels, but not everyone.

Swing14: Dave's suggestion that you stay near Boulder Highway is a good one, particularly if you play in AAA or another of the large divisions. With only 3 days to complete the tournament, it is likely that seeding games will be scheduled horizontally- with teams then hustling to another park to get the brackets started.

That's probably true Swing14, but your response got me a bit curious ... Most players, except local Las Vegas residents, DO stay in hotels like you said ... But if you fall in the category of "..not everyone..", do you have a network of friends or "safe houses" around Las Vegas where the field assignment would determine which one of those you may utilize? ...

Actually I do have a network of "friends" in vegas. As a team we try and find something close to the field that we will be playing at trying to limit the drive times, whether that be a hotel or a home rental.
I just like to make plans earlier than later based on as much information as I can get.
I understand this doesn't always work, but if it could...

I have seen quite a few teams opt for airbnb's close to venues. This is getting more and more common to share costs and cut down on drive times to games. Knowing venues early helps identify the right Airbnb house to target and reserve it before it gets gobbled up. I am not saying this is widespread, but I hear and see this more and more and have personally done this at tourneys to save money.

I stay almost exclusively at Airbnb places. I hope it becomes more popular and maybe the casinos will quit gouging people at every turn.

Mikelmart ... I agree, but have to look in the mirror and recognize that most times I have been gouged by a casino, it was self-inflicted! ... Like sitting at the bar poker machine and burning a $20 bill so I can have a "free" ($20) Bud Light! ... Oh, well! ...
