June 4, 2018 cyborg45 Men's 75 194 posts | Looking 75 age group This may be a bit premature, but I will turn 74 next year so I will be eligible to play with the 75's. I'm of the understanding that I can play on all eligible teams east of the Mississippi. I am located in the Florida panhandle. Rated Major in all associations. 1st, catch and EH if necessary Decent speed, good power, 714 avg. playing Major Plus 3 years ago. 765 avg. this year in 3 tournaments. Looking forward to hearing from teams looking ahead to 2019. Looking for a competitive 75 team |

June 5, 2018 cyborg45 Men's 75 194 posts | Thanks for the response Joe. I will call you as we get towards the end of this year. |
June 6, 2018 Ho 301 posts | Cy: just wanted to hitchhike. I run probably one of the highest attended 75 and 80 team tournaments in senior softball, so i am familiar with most of the teams. Just wanted to qualify my opinion that you could not find a better oganized and quality manager in senior softball and especially the 75’s than Joe Bush. Monkey Joe’s is always one of the most competitive teams in the 75 division and definitely one of the best organized. The team does not only have good players but also good team mates. You should definitely contact JOE, you will not be sorry.. Ho |
June 7, 2018 cyborg45 Men's 75 194 posts | Ho, thanks for your important input! Coming from a TD, this is an impressive validation. Just looking for the best fit for everyone, Ron |
June 10, 2018 Birdman65 Men's 70 20 posts | IFYI--I'm not 100% sure but I heard that in 2019 there are no boundaries whether you live on either the East or West of the Mississippi. So it is possible that you wold be able to play for any 75s team that you qualify for based on your personal rating. |
June 11, 2018 cyborg45 Men's 75 194 posts | Very interesting Birdman. I hadn't heard of that ruling. Maybe we could get SSUSA to give us some insight. I played plus ball for a team from Colorado before moving to Florida. |
June 11, 2018 SSUSA Staff 3465 posts | Birdman65 ... Someone is "making rules up on the fly" regarding the 75+ division region boundaries for the 2019 Season and they tricked you into believing it ... SSUSA makes rules changes only once per year, at the Annual Rules Committee meetings in late November ... No such rule change has yet been considered ... |
June 11, 2018 curveball Men's 65 705 posts | cy, East of the Mississippi for any Major+, border states rule for Major and lower I believe. |
June 12, 2018 cyborg45 Men's 75 194 posts | curveball, your scenario for 70 and below is correct. But my understanding of the current rules is that this changes for 75 and above. That's why I'm looking for a good competitive team east of the Mississippi for next year. At this point, not much here in the southeast for this age group. |
June 12, 2018 DaveDowell Men's 70 4295 posts | There have been NO CHANGES, implemented or proposed for the upcoming November National Rules Committee sessions ... Please see (and carefully read) page 63 of the current Rulebook ... Rules §13.1(2)C. and §13.1(3)B. directly address the questions raised in this thread, except, of course, the false rumor that there has been a change for the 2019 Season ... |
June 13, 2018 curveball Men's 65 705 posts | cy, read where Dave has sent you; you'll see the 75's rule defined. |
